Perfect bird feeder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bird feeder works great. Video quality is good. Have not had any issues with the solar charge. No complaints

Worth every penny!

This is my second bamboo birdfy feeder, and I cannot get enough! The camera is so clear, the AI identification is accurate, it is easy to install and most of all easy to clean. Birdfy customer service is also incredible when you have a question or need anything. I have learned so many different species and the audio allows you to hear their noises as well. Next, I'm definitely getting the hummingbird feeder! Highly recommend, and they make great and unique gifts too (my mom loved hers)!

Nice for bird watchers

Love it, right now have the same 5 types of birds feeding, but will mix up food to attract more kinds. Was hard to get to work with the wi-fi, which was my fault really. Didn't realize I had to carry the camera into house and be near the wi-fi on initial setup.

High maintenance, poor design

I truly regret this purchase. I have two other Birdfy feeders that perform well, but this one is awful. The Florida climate is too wet for a wooden feeder, which requires too frequent cleaning of mold and re-waxing. The lid has warped and will no longer close. Ants took up residence inside the camera enclosure, making cleaning a nightmare. The clamps which are the means of attaching to a pole are difficult to secure with the weight of the whole unit, and makes taking it down for cleaning a difficult operation. When faced with taking it down again in preparation for Hurricane Milton, I decided it would never be put up again. I might fill it and leave it on the ground for the squirrels until it disintegrates. I am awaiting delivery of a new improved non-bamboo model to replace it.

Beautiful Bird Feeder!

This is my second Birdfy feeder. I love the wood tones of this one and how it blends in with nature. It's very easy to get setup with the app and easy to hang. The solar panel has been great, no issues with it staying charged. The update to the app identifying birds is great and in my experience has been right 95% of the time. The video and picture quality is also great, even the night vision is good. It's a lot of fun and would be a great gift!

A great purchase

This is the second Birdfy feeder for our family and we love it. The set-up was seamless and the bamboo feeder was up and running in no time. The solar panel has worked to perfection and will be a welcome addition this winter. The pictures that the Birdfy camera captures are clear and show up on our phones almost instantly. The Birdfy App is very easy to use and gives us the option to share our pictures and videos with the entire Birdfy community. We highly recommend this feeder, camera, and solar panel!

Birdfy Bamboo Feeder

The Birdfy Bamboo Feeder's camera takes and saves pictures and videos of the birds feeding. It is very well built and connected to my home network easily. The mounting bracket allows you to just lift the bird feeder up and off for easy cleaning. This feeder seems to waste less seed than my other backyard feeders and I am able to attract bluebirds by mixing mealworms in with the seeds. The Birdfy Feeder has brought lots of enjoyment which can be shared easily with family and friends. The photos capture the birds in some beautiful ( and hilarious ) moments up close and with great detail. If nature and backyard birds are something you enjoy, you will love this feeder.

A.I. Bird Recognition Good - Everything Else Bad

My wife & I bought this feeder in early July 2024 from our local Sam's Club. It lasted less than a month. Aggressive squirrels and raccoons made short work of the sliding plexiglass covers and the bamboo cover surrounding the camera itself. We contacted the manufacturer only to be told that no repair parts were available. For this kind of money, everything should be replaceable. The feeder is heavy to mount, and I also seriously question the watertight integrity of the connector that inserts into the camera body from the solar panel. Do not underestimate the problems you may encounter with its 2.4 GHz wi-fi capability. If your home wi-fi is a more advanced wi-fi system that combines 2.4 and 5 GHz under the same SSID, the camera's wi-fi has trouble picking out its connection. I ended up setting a separate, outdoor wi-fi access point (2.4 only) so that the camera would work...MOST of the time. Seeing a camera disconnected or camera off-line message was a frequent occurrence. Setting up a separate 2.4 wi-fi access point for a bird feeder that is 10 feet from the source of wi-fi should not have to be done. This bird feeder was bought for its novelty though somewhere in the pre-release design and testing phase, someone at the company forgot that it needs repair parts, parts MUST be animal-proof, and modern wi-fi connectivity is not just 2.4 GHz. The saddest thing is the A.I. bird recognition did work accurately most of the time, but in the end, it was a poor "marriage".
