After one year, it's OK

I got this tv over a year ago. I was very pleased at first. However, every time there is a software update, it requires reset after reset. The last one screwed me up for a whole weekend. To the point where I thought that I could not get the television working again! Then after a reset and reprogramming my Xfinity remote, all was right with the world. It seems that Vizio's software people need to do more debugging before unleashing uncontrollable software on the unsuspecting users.

Unable to select apps or delete apps!

Do not like not being able to delete or add apps to my own preference! Sometimes the picture just freezes up. When a channel won't come in with the antenna it is shutting itself off!! What kind of crap is that?? How am I supposed to change the channel if I can't get it to stay on. I will never buy another Vizio...

Great TV for a bedroom!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace our “original” flat screen Vizio that was about 10+ years old. It still worked okay but the audio had lost quality. This new TV works great in our bedroom. Doesn't take much space and is super easy to use. My only gripe is that I wish the remote had a “backlight”.

Won't buy again

I've had several smart TVs. I needed to replace my bedroom TV. I went with the cheapest with the best reviews. I will never buy a Vizio again. The TV lags and constantly freezes. My Internet connect is great and I do not have any of those issues with my other brand smart TVs. The overall experience with this TV, from start to now (2 years of owning), has been miserable. I have decided to replace the TV, even though it does work, with a more reliable brand. The hastle is not worth it to me, not even if it was free.

NOT USER FRIENDLY!!!

Liked that this TV offered a remote with the number buttons on it(one of very few brands that offer this). this TV was bought for my grandma that does not use the technology that most do. It is extremely not user-friendly in my opinion. I live roughly 45 miles from her and have had to make multiple trips to her apartment to help her with the TV after other family members tried helping her. She has basic local cable and antenna TV without internet. I think if she were to have internet this tv might be ok for someone with little to no tech skills.

Bit more info.

1. There was NOT someone to help us on TVs, in the area we shopped. 2. My brother had some experience with a Vizio product, that is why we picked this tv. 3. We had questions how to connect a VCR/DVD. 4. Had to schedule a cable service person to help. We are NOT digitally inclined. 5. What we had going was correct. Problem with getting up a picture, had to call family member to help. It was like a missing part of the program. Other wise we do like the t.v.

Another great Vizio product!

My new Vizio D-series 40" TV that I got for Father's Day, is another awesome Vizio product. Every time I get a new Visio TV, the new generation of Vizio is an apparent improvement over the one that came before. Vizio out does itself with each new product! I have paid much higher prices for other brands in the past, but Vizio always comes out on top time and time again... at a MUCH lower price! No need to go with another brand, Vizio wins hands down!

Great small TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are few small (24") TV's to choose from. Most have software that limit what you can do with them. Not Vizio. Very good picture, easy setup, many free channels and very easy to add apps of channels you bring with you.

Vizio is lowering their quality

The remote that comes with this model is a pain. The volume and channels buttons are too low causing a strain on the index finger. The previously designed remote for the 32 inch TV's worked much better. Also, the speaker quality compared to the earlier models is worse. Vizio is clearly working to lower the quality of their products in order to increase stock holder profits.

Situational Dependant

I've only had this TV for a week, and each day, I have wanted to take it back. At first, when setting up the TV, it is difficult to tell what you are selecting until after you hit the "OK" button. If you don't select data tracking, you cannot stream anything. After finally finishing initial setup, the TV attempted to download and install a series of updates; it was not able to complete all the instalations. Sometimes when turning the set on, it will not connect to the Wi-Fi; in order to remedy this, I would have to turn the set off then on again until it connected. Speaking of the remote, there is a lag from the time a button is pressed to when the TV responds. The remote which came with the set is not arranged the same as the one in the User's Manual, therefore, I had to play around with the remote to see what button corresponded to the manual's depictions. The menus are not intuitive, in fact there is not a "menu" button on the remote; these functions are under the "settings" button. The HD picture is great, but black screens have bleeding on the upper edge. The TV is light and easy to mount (once you figure out the size of the screws you need). TV is perfect for college dorm, children's room, or some other tertiary TV setting.
