A real workhorse, but overheats quickly when shredding continuously for several minutes. And you have to constantly oil the heads.....every time you empty it. Overall, though, I happy with my purchase.

It works well. Basket fills up quickly. It doesn't like too many papers at one time. It has easy to read problem solving display. It tells you if bin is full or if your putting to much in at a time. So far so good.

I like everything about this shredder. I had an older model and used it for 10 years. This new model is better and improved. Chews through more paper at a time and is easy to maintain and clean. Recommended.

I bought this unit to replace the Royal shredder that I had which did not last but 4 years. I have another Fellowes unit which still going strong at 10 years old. Fellowes is a very dependable brand for household use

I needed a quality shredder with at minimum medium use. So far, so good. I appears to be a quality product, however, time will tell. I liked that it could shred everything and it has a special insert for credit cards and cds.

Seems to be a heavy duty unit especially for home use that's exactly what I wanted. At time of review I've only had for a week. So only time will tell.

Will shred 14 pages as it states into small pieces. Indicator shows if there are too many sheets that it cannot shred. Waste empties easily. No problems so far. Seems heavy duty enough for a small home office.

I've tried other brands and nothing compares to Fellowes. I'm using this shredder for the home office and it is doing the job; especially no paper jams.

This shredder was a replacement for another personal Fellowes shredder which we had bought just over 20 years ago and had used heavily over the years. Fellowes' shredder durability and performance is what had us look at Fellowes for another shredder. This new 79ci shredder plows through more pages than our old one. It handles staples and credit cards with ease. We appreciate that it can shredder for a longer period of time without needing to cool down, and we like the safety features. It's a great purchase.

Jan 2010 I bought the first unit. I have it for my very small home office where I handle book keeping for 3 charities. This shredder was working great. I have in in a carpeted room. I walked over to shred paper one day, about 6 steps, I touched the power button on the front top and accidently gave it a small static shock. Not bad but it immediately gave a warning that the paper drawer was open. It was not and it never worked again. I called the manufacture. They replaced it under warrantee with out question. Great service!!. 1 year old at the time. I went 2 more years plus 3 months, being very careful not to shock it again. Oiled it after every basket empty and it was working great. Well yesterday a friend went to the machine, it got a slight shock and now it is dead. I called the manufacture to find out where to take it for repair. Long story short, they are replacing it again free! But they said this is the last time. I am surprised at this great service but the machine is too sensitive. They said the shock was not the problem. They said these are not repairable. Throw away.
