This is my fourth shredder, and by far the best in all respects. It is well constructed, quiet, and will not jam, not just sometimes, It Will Not Jam...period. I would and have recommended this shredder to anyone looking for a dependable shredder. I have nothing bad to say about it.

I bought this shredder to replace my old Fellowes strip cut shredder that was still working after many years because I wanted a cross cut shredder. This shredder is a good value for the money and works beautifully. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I was disappointed that the waste basket was so small (6 gallons) and I would have liked it to be bigger which could have been accomplished by the manufacturer making it a little taller.

I finally broke my current Fellowes DM8C shredder that only lasted through 8 years of abuse! Fed more then it's rated number of pages and jammed it often. I put stuff in it that didn't need to fed into a non-commercial shredder. Wasn't aware of need to oil, so it NEVER was oiled. I will treat my new 79ci with more respect and I expect to it will outlast me. I can live with the smaller chad bin considering the new features like safety, anti-jam, and the casters are a real plus.

This is an excellent shredder. It is very quiet, shreds quickly and I especially like the Jam Resistance feature. If too many papers are put in at one time, it reverses itself and backs them out. I am very happy I purchased this product and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a very good shredder.

The Fellowes PS-79Ci is fast, efficient and powerful. We call it our R2D2. Perfect for a home office or personal home use. Was looking for a shredder that didn’t constantly jam and could shred and power-thru multiple sheets at a time. The PS-79Ci does the trick. Easy to assemble, plug-in and get started. Shredded my documents in no time. Fills up fast but easy to empty and get started again. Looking around the house for other things to shred. Its fun!

I had been using a very basic shredder for many years that just created strips. I was looking for a shredder that would do more than 6 sheets at a time and would cross cut. I love the safety feature and jam resistance that comes with this shredder as well as its size (not a much larger footprint than my old shredder). The casters are another nice feature. I'm very pleased with my Fellowes 79Ci. This shredder will go through 14 sheets of paper like a hot knife through butter... with or without staples. The credit card and CD slot works perfectly ... keeping both centered and aligned perfectly ... while being fed through without a hitch. I like the safety feature that does not allow your fingers to get close to the cutter while under power. Some people mentioned that there is some mess when emptying the waste ... not true if you do it correctly. When you finish shredding simply roll the cutters forward for a few seconds and this will empty out any loose paper that is caught on the cutters. Some people also mention that the waste container doesn't slide in easily ... not true if you do it correctly. Simply push it in as far as it goes with one hand against the center panel of the waste container and slightly pull upward on the slide in handle with the other hand ... piece of cake ... works every time. I also use the included waste bags in the bin and then empty into a garbage bag. Some people mentioned that the 4 rollers on the bottom might be a little difficult to install ... it's simple ... just wiggle them side to side while pushing and they go in perfectly... no brute force needed. I don't see any problems with this shredder ... everything works perfectly ... like it should. I believe anyone who purchases this model ... will be very pleased. It is actually a bargain considering the quality. PS ... I bought a Fellowes air purifier at the same time and it is also flawless! I hope that your engineers got year end bonuses ... their designs are great.

Received my shredder today and used it for an hour and a half. It was easy to use and quiet! This is a replacement for a cheap/low-quality shredder purchesed several years ago. It only caused a lot of grief when using it and it finally broke. I saw this advertised in Costco magazine and have been waiting a few months to be able to purchase it. Ordered it two evenings ago and received it this afternoon. Had a great time shredding a box full of papers with my 8 year old granddaughter soon after opening the package.

I have owned several shredders before and found them all to be frustrating. No matter how careful I was, they always jammed up and overheated. The Fellows shredder has never jammed on me when I used it as recommended. It does heat up but this is because I save up stuff to shred and then run it continuously when I use it. So this is not a problem with the shredder. An excellent product, well worth the price.

I have owned several shreaders but none of them have performed with the reliability that my PS-79Ci has. It has never jammed or become sluggish. It provides an easy access to dump the cuttings and does not create the mess of dropping cuttings all over the floor when you empty the basket. This was a great purchase as the Fellows unit has already out lasted two other shreaders.
