My wife and I use our paper shredder every day. Our last shredder lasted 14 years. I loved it, and reluctantly agreed to purchasing a new one. My wife bought the Fellowes Powershred 79ci. I was pleasantly surprised with it's performance and function. I am looking forward to spending the next 14 years using this awesome machine!

Our new shredder has been a Godsend. We have already filled three contractor size bags full of old documents. It is compact but packs a powerful punch and is a very quiet shredder. We feel so much more at ease knowing that our personal information is properly shredded and disposed of with our new in home shredder. We really appreciate the safety and power saving features included with this model. Very glad we chose it!

This is my first time purchase Fellowers shredder. It is a good price and exellent product. It is quieter than I expected. I try out the jam feature and indeed it works. However, the shredder does not shred as I expected. I like to shred a little finer but the cost is way too expensive.

My wife had a Fellowes machine at work and insisted on buying one for home .Wel ,she was right. This machine works every time no jams no problems. It also has a high quality look and looks fine in any setting within the house. Good choice, good machine,good value!

This is my fourth paper shredder I have owned. The other three were horrible products, frequently getting plugged up with paper shreds, jamming, and just stopping. On top of that the office was always filled with dust from the shredding process. Based on my use of the Fellowes 79Ci so far, this may just be my last purchase! It performs exactly as advertised. It is quiet, gobbles up paper, is near impossible to jam, and the shredding mechanism never needs cleaning or unplugging. Fellowes gets an A++ on this product !

Only giving 2 stars to Overall Rating due to the poor security due to the size of the shreds of paper. Very poor security for this shredder. If you have paper printed in landscape mode, you can have an "entire" Tax I.D. number, etc. on a piece of shredded paper. The strips are too long. The purpose of shredding is to destroy any information on a piece of paper and this shredder does not do it. It is sturdy, handles lots of paper and is fast. Like the fact it will stop if taking too much paper. However, after 2 months, I am already looking for another shredder due to the poor security of the shredded pages.

Have had two previous Fellowes Shredders: Both were quiet, strong, and capable. Tried a "store brand" before this purchase due to price and mocro-cut capabiliity. Had it home one day and returned it due to poor construction and extremely noisy operation. Fellowes is far better for quality construction and quiet operation. I would, however, prefer a Fellowes micro-cut in a more affordable price range for home office.

My medical office uses 2 Fellowes shredders ever day purging files as well as daily paper work. I just bought my third Fellowes shredder due to # 2 no longer completely doing the job after being used for 4 years. My first purchase is still in use. There was no question on my part as to which shredder to order as I have been so happy with the first 2 Fellowes shredders. THANK YOU!!

I just love our new shredder! It does everything we need it to and more. I especially like the sheet capacity indicator, which keeps you from inserting too much paper at one time and the jam proof system, which really works. The only down side is the small bin fills up way too fast and is messy to empty.

The Fellowes 79ci shredder is a worthy product. It appears durable and is very quiet. Like every other shredder I've owned (three) it is messy to empty and fills up to the shut-off point quite rapidly. I often find myself stopping to pack down its contents so that it will continue shredding. The paper bin must be re-inserted exactly so that it will start shredding again. It 'measures' the thickness of paper being inserted but that is essentially a worthless feature. Often, two or three sheets will register a full load as if I'd put in a dozen sheets. I think its sensors are a bit too sensitive. It will also start to shred a document (or documents), stop, back them out, then turn around and keep going again. This is a useful feature but it does waste time. The Fellowes 79ci is an improvement over my previous one, a Staples brand one of similar size. But it still needs further improvement.
