I have owned several personal shredders and none of the previous ones hold a cancle to this one. It cost me a little more, but is certainly money well spent. When they say it is jam-proof, that is the truth. The display panel and lights on top of the unit won't allow you to jam it if you are paying any attention to what you are doing. You don't need to guess about anything when using it.

I upgraded from a Fellows shreader purchased about 10 years ago and what a work horse. Easily shreads 10 pages no trouble. Credit cards and staples just vanish into waste. I like the light feature showing you how much of a load the shreader can handle before stopping and doing damage to the motor or gears. I would reccomend this shreader to anyone that needs to trash personal imformation. A very safe piece of equipment for home or office use. NO HOME SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE OF THESE!!!

The Fellowes shredder is the third shredder I have purchased in 4 years. The other two shredders which were not Fellowes just didn't last. They were noisy and the quality was not good. I am very satisfied with my current shredder and I hope to use it for many years.

This shredder replaced another cross-cut shredder I had for about five years. The other was noisy and jammed itself frequently by getting the confetti stuck in its shredder mechanism on the output side. This shredder is quiet, never jams and works so well, I don't even think about it. When it shipped, the caddy that attaches to the back was missing. It's not important, but it's convenient for storing the shredder's documentation. I called customer support and they shipped it out, no problem. So what would I improve? Maybe beef up the plastic shredder drawer a little. Summary: Buy it.

I bought this shredder to replace my old Fellowes strip cut shredder that was still working after many years because I wanted a cross cut shredder. This shredder is a good value for the money and works beautifully. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I was disappointed that the waste basket was so small (6 gallons) and I would have liked it to be bigger which could have been accomplished by the manufacturer making it a little taller.

Excellent product. Sturdy construction. Very good value. The only negative was the bin. It was impossible to remove a full bag from the bin without ripping it due to the plastic protrusions on the inner wall. Other reviewers mentioned this problem, but not as many as I would have thought. We are currently not using any trash bag insert, but shred directly in to the bin.

My 8 year old PS-79Ci has finally given up the ghost after reams of shredding in a small office business environment. At 5 years the power switch became flaky, and since it was out of warranty I repaired the switch myself with a drop of epoxy in the right place. Then at 8 years of service it just quit all together. I believe the motor and shredding mechanism is still functional, but the electronic sensor(s) inside have gone kaput. I am not technically savvy enough to make that repair and having it repaired makes no sense. I only hope the newest model holds up as well as it's predecessor has.

I needed a shredder for years but just got my first. Researched before I bought and narrowed it down to Fellowes, fellowes, or fellowes. Have been purging my garage of years of excess IRS records. It is easy and safe (and fun) to use. Now, what else can I shread.

I HAD ALWAYS BOUGHT SHREDDERS BY PRICE, CHEAP! BUT, U GET WHAT U PAY FOR. THEY WOULD ALWAYS JAM, OVERHEAT & QUIT,COULDN'T FEED MUCH PAPER THROUGH, ETC. SO, I DECIDED TO BY A GOOD ONE, I REALLY LOVE THIS ONE. IT'S QUIET, DOESN'T JAM. MY WIFE THOUGHT I WAS SPENDING TO MUCH FOR A SHREDDER, YOU'VE ALREADY GOT ONE,, I TOLD HER I WANTED A GOOD ONE. I'M REALLY GLAD I BOUGHT THIS ONE.

I'm very pleased with my Fellowes 79Ci. This shredder will go through 14 sheets of paper like a hot knife through butter... with or without staples. The credit card and CD slot works perfectly ... keeping both centered and aligned perfectly ... while being fed through without a hitch. I like the safety feature that does not allow your fingers to get close to the cutter while under power. Some people mentioned that there is some mess when emptying the waste ... not true if you do it correctly. When you finish shredding simply roll the cutters forward for a few seconds and this will empty out any loose paper that is caught on the cutters. Some people also mention that the waste container doesn't slide in easily ... not true if you do it correctly. Simply push it in as far as it goes with one hand against the center panel of the waste container and slightly pull upward on the slide in handle with the other hand ... piece of cake ... works every time. I also use the included waste bags in the bin and then empty into a garbage bag. Some people mentioned that the 4 rollers on the bottom might be a little difficult to install ... it's simple ... just wiggle them side to side while pushing and they go in perfectly... no brute force needed. I don't see any problems with this shredder ... everything works perfectly ... like it should. I believe anyone who purchases this model ... will be very pleased. It is actually a bargain considering the quality. PS ... I bought a Fellowes air purifier at the same time and it is also flawless! I hope that your engineers got year end bonuses ... their designs are great.
