Great Purchase

This is the third shredder that we have had in our home, and by far it is the best. I am very impressed with the quiet operation of the unit. It does a Pacmanlike job when it is gobbling up the papers we don't want to share with others. The residue left after shredding is very secure in my opinion. I have shreded up to 5 sheets at one time. The machine handled it well and didn't skip a beat. The unit itself is very lightweight and easy to move around on its rollers. Although I bought this shredder for home use, I believe it would work well in a small business environment.

Significant Upgrade

We replaced the previous shredder in our two person law office with the PS 79 c, and it was a significant upgrade...so much more quiet (with a deeper less annoying sound) it does handle all 12 sheets as advertised, and it is a very solid piece of machinery, very comforting to know that a small staple might slip in and not destry the shredder...only negative aspect is that it is difficult to unload the shredded paper; tried it with the bag (which took some extra time to secure) and without the bag, and ended up with lots of paper on the floor, just a comment, overall, really a good value for the price, and has made office life better.

First Time Purchaser

The name says it all, FELLOWES. The best is to be expected with such a brand name, and that is exactly what I found to be true with this shredder, the POWERSHRED 79Ci. It is well worth the cost. I am very happy I made this purchase. It is a quiet, jam proof, safe shredder. The caster wheels make for easier movement around the the place and the pull out draw is conveniently located too. I had a number of things to shred, from stapled papers to CDs. The POWERSHRED 79Ci has taken care of all of these things efficiently. The advertisement was true to its words about the POWERSHRED 79Ci. I look forward to the long use life of this product.

Very satisfied customer

We bought this shredder to replace a Fellowes shredder that finally died after 10 years of constant use. We look forward to the same good service from this one and are especially delighted that it empties without lifting the heavy shredder off of the paper receptacle (as was true of the old one.)

Great Value! Highly Recommended.

I am very pleased that I purchased the Fellowes PS-79Ci for my home office. I have shredded thousands of documents with staples, plus some CD's and a credit card and have not had any problems. There have been no jamming problems with the exception of when the storage bin becomes too full and the system shuts-down. I have learned to watch the storage capacity more carefully to avoid overfilling.

Most Satisfied

Though I looked at many makes and models, the Fellows PS-79ci Shredder was my first purchase in the shredder market primarily because I was most impressed with the features of this model as well as the price. It is fast, relatively quiet, and very safe to operate, not to mention that it simply looks "ccol" setting next to the desk in my home office. Needless to say, absolutely everyone that sees the PS-79ci is envious. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality machine.

Satisfaction and Safety

Just replaced our Fellowes shredder with another new Fellowes shredder after using every day in my office for over 9 years. The other MAIN reason we buy Fellowes shredders is the fact it has the safety if anyone (small children or out pets or others with long hair, etc.) stops in and should accidentally go near this shredder it immediately stops. This should be a law that all shredders have this. I saw a video years ago when a dog got his tongue caught in a shredder and I never got over that site. Thank god not our dogs but regardless the thought that it can happen is more than enough reason to purchase only a shredder that has this safety feature. The replacement unit seems slightly upgraded with a timer that shuts the unit off if not in use a while and starts right back up if you insert a paper to shred (leaving that safety factor still in tack). The shredder is definitely a winner for all the above reasons

Better than the reviews indicate!

I love my new Fellowes 79Ci. It is a replacement for a less-than-two-year-old Royal shredder that stopped working; it was of similar size and shredding capacity to the 79Ci. As to the reviews I read before purchasing this shredder: (1) Some reviewers had trouble getting the casters in. I had very little difficulty; with just a little wiggling of the caster, it slipped right in. (2) Reviewers complained about the bin not shutting if it is partially full with shredded paper. The bin shuts solidly even if mostly full. Just push it in at the middle of the drawer--down about 4-5" from the hand-hold. (3) Then there were complaints about having to open the bin periodically to push the shredded paper down. Yes, I do have to open the bin and mash the shredded paper down fairly often. However, it is less often than with the Royal shredder I had and the 79Ci stops taking the paper when the bin is showing full and needs to have the paper pushed down. The Royal kept taking the paper and then it jammed, requiring a lengthy process of removing the pieces of paper that were stuck in the shredder blades. I'm very glad I ordered this shredder.

Great Shredder

We've always had light weight shredders, rated for 6 sheets, that struggled with 3. The 79Ci is a breeze. It won't accept it if you have too many sheets, yet if you take away 2, it goes through them like a hot knife through butter, So glad we got it. Safesense can be a little anoying at times, especially since it seems the knives are difficult to get your fingers near anyway. But a small inconvenience for so many features. Although all shredders make noise, this is amazingly quiet, in comparison.

Love my shredder

This is the best shredder I have owned. It is quiet, easy to empty. I no longer have shredding pieces all over my floor when it is time to change the bag. I love the fact that it is on wheels. It makes is easy to roll under my desk to keep it out of the way. It is extremely quiet, unlike ones I have owned in the past. This cost far more than I have ever paid for a shredder; however, at this point, it was well worth the money.
