Good generator

Easy set up, starts effortlessly and the price is reasonable. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the wheels and handle kit should have been included. I bought one on my own and it made this heavy machine manageable for anyone to move around. For most people this generator is too heavy to be carrying. I also purchased a Champion cover for it, where it is not really necessary, it's a nice touch.

Operates as Advertised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this too replace a 14 year old Champion built Generator that started having fluctuating voltage. Love the lighter weight, reduced noise, inverter concept and digital voltage meter. Was disappointed that the pull starter has to be pulled to the rear of the unit as opposed to the front like my prior generator. This requires me to pickup and turn the unit 180 degrees before and after starting in the outdoor cabinet that shelters the unit from rain and snow at my camp. Going to make a lazy Susan like stand to deal with this design change.

Awesome genny for little money

I bought this during a camping trip in a heat wave. 106 outside and 96 inside. Once it got home, we filled it up as instructed, cranked it up ( only 2 pulls I might add ) and verified it would run the ac fine. I bought this not only for my camper, but my home in case of an outage.

Works well

The generator was easy to set up and get running. I haven't had any problems with it. It is a bit nosier than I wanted in a generator, but for the price, power, and overall weight it is worth it. Especially since it's for emergency uses anyways. #sweepstakes

The second one i have bought in 3 years

This is the second 4250 that I have bought in the last 3 years. Still have the first one and it has never given me any problems. I bought the first one because i had a Popup camper and that was all I needed to run everything including the AC. I have since bought a 38-foot RV and it has 2 AC, so I need either a larger generator or 2 generators with the parallel kit. I chose 2 due to the fact that if I only needed 1 AC or less then I would run 1 of the 4250's and it would use less fuel. Also, with 2 generators I will have a backup if one should quit running due to trash in fuel or some other situation. I recommend the Champion 4250 Open Frame due to how dependable it is.

I solid inverter/generator

I bought this for camping in our RV without power. I just got home from camping where we used this on several days. The pros; It usually started with one pull by setting the choke first. The voltage and frequency were right on spec, 120VAC and 60Hz. I was watching it closely and it didn't vary except when I tried the air conditioning. That caused the voltage to drop to 118 VAC. My wife and I were able to lift it in and out of my truck bed. The Cons; Only that it wasn't as quiet as I expected. There was another brand (from a discount place) 5000 W unit that was right behind us at the campground was quite a bit quieter than mine.

So far working great

So far I have used it twice for a few hours each time. Starts up right away, reasonbly quiet, and powered my entire camper including AC and microwave at the same time. I'll change the oil after 5 hours as it calls for and hopefully it lasts for many years. Lighter than my previous generator.

Excellent buy

This thing is amazing. If you're on the fence, pull the trigger. Here in Houston during hurricane season currently. I bought this thing a mere few days before hurricane Beryl hit and took out all of Houston. Still currently without power on day 7 but this thing has met all my needs. I purchased a RV to 120 v adapter and have 3 or 4 extension cords running all the appliances I need. I keep my fridge/freezer running along with 2 tvs, internet, microwave, coffee maker, dehumidifier, window AC unit and miscellaneous charging. This thing can be a mini whole home generator if you plan accordingly and buy the right stuff. To say this thing has saved my sanity is an understatement. Only downside is having to purchase gas every couple days but it's running a week constantly so that's not a problem in the grand scheme of things. Amazing buy, couldn't be any happier! #sweepstakes

Way better than I exoected

Needed to replace an old worn out Honda that burned oil and found this gem for a fraction of the price. I like that the champion brand is widely sold by multiple brick and mortar outlets for service work and comes with a 3 year warranty. I needed more power for my hunting cabin to run an AC unit, mini fridge, pellet grill and a coffee maker or pizza oven at the same time and the 4250 watt generator handles it without even leaving eco mode: it was way more fuel efficient than I thought it would be a larger unit. Noise level wasn't bad either. Very happy with my purchase.
