Soggy and tasteless

Very disappointed. Tasteless. Shrimp is soggy and the breading very oily. I prepared these in my oven as directed, after the suggested 16 minutes, the breading was not golden but white - it looked uncooked, Shrimp was soggy and so greasy that I needed to blot each piece with a paper towel. I even baked the shrimp for an additional 6 minutes, but it didn't help. I will not be buying these again and would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing this product.

New version butterfly shrimp

The picture on the box of frozen butterfly shrimp on Sams' website is not the same shrimp you that you will find in their freezer currently. The packaging appears to be the same, but look closely. BECAUSE , Notice that on the old box it states the shrimp are "Panko" coated and can be "baked or fried", fried in my mind means deep-fried, and the shrimp were pretty decent when either baked or fried. No longer is that true, BECAUSE, the box states now that the shrimp can be baked or "AIR FRIED" and it is visually apparent when you open the packaging that something has changed for the sake of being able to now air-fry them, and that they are not coated with a "PANKO" coating anymore as it still states on the box, but is now coated with some sort of "CORNMEAL" coating so thick it's hard to find the shrimp that is supposidly hidden inside the "butterfly shaped" item. Tonight I made a bag and ate 1 shrimp and that was enough, and I ended up tossing the remainder of them in the garbage, as they were that bad. I'm sure the shrimp they used to sell air-fried just fine, as I read in some prior reviews. so there was no reason to modify the product so it coud be made in a air-fryer. I've always purchased this shrimp 2 boxes at a time for many years and now tomorrow I will be returning 1 & 1/2 boxes for a refund, for sure never to purchase again!! Too bad because they were a decent item I enjoyed for years. BUT Sams Club does seem to have a habit of trying to enhance/modify items that should just be left alone. After 30 years of being loyal customer, I've seen alot of that same thing go on without being able to justify/understand why it was done. SAMS CLUB. If it's not broken, don't try to fix it!
