This watch is amazing. I primarily purchased this watch with hunting in mind. I have two German Shorthaired Pointers and often hunt grouse in Northern Maine where cell phone service is unavailable and some areas are only accessible through dirt roads. Having the GSP features for this is amazing. The maps load faster than any GPS I have used thus far. The watch fits around my medium sized wrist and provides ample comfort.

I bought the Epix Gen 2 after having the Fenix 7X Solar for about a month. The features are pretty much identical. The Fenix 7X Solar battery life and flashlight features are far superior to the Epix. However the watch face colors and brightness when indoors on the Epix are pretty spectacular compared to the Fenix 7X Solar. With that said, the Fenix 7X Solar watch face is bigger and the screen is alot better in the daylight compared to Epix. Overall, the Fenix 7X Solar is a notch or two better than the Epix Gen 2. (Battery, screen size, flashlight, daytime screen visibility). BUT, if I'm indoors I prefer the Epix.

This watch truly is epic. Now with the new software upgrade I've even extended my battery another 40%, I suspect mostly from the GPS efficiency. This watch now supersedes and replaces most other fitness trackers. No need for additional hardware, this will cover HRV, training readiness, race prep, sunrise/sunset, track ALL the training, all while looking like a solid watch.

First off, Garmin's warranty and support is world class. I went through two EPIX 2 Sapphire watches due to flooding of the case during Kiteboard/WingFoil activities. Both are "high speed water activities" which the standard EPIX should withstand at the 10 ATM rating. I called Garmin and I received replacement watch within days. After flooding the second watch the Garmin rep recommended upgrading to the EPIX Pro due to the different build on the Start/Stop button. Not everyone explores the limits of their equipment but if you do, I recommend spending the extra money on the EPIX Pro. The EPIX and EPIX Pro are functional the same watch and the touch screen is a great upgrade from my last watch, Garmin 945, which served me reliably for five and a half years. The light on the Pro is a funny addition but has turned out to be incredibly useful. Like the flashlight on your phone but always connected to your wrist. That small feature has been really useful during travels walking around dark unfamiliar hotel rooms when trying not to wake the family.

First Garmin watch I ever sent back . "always on is not always on," I hate that it goes black after no movement. I have worn Garmin from forerunner 101. If this new Amoled display goes into all future devices and there is not an actual always on, I will move onto to Polar Or Coros .

I've had this watch since right after the release and haven't gotten to use it to its full potential but have used it alot. I am beyond irritated that the wrist heart sensor works maybe 2 hours a day with all of the measured sections added up, also with that if my watch is correct I've slept a total of maybe 20 hours since I've gotten this watch... kinda wishing I would have gotten a smart watch and bought a garmin GPS separately instead of dropping a grand for both in one.

The Epix Gen 2 meets my needs for a wearable smartwatch and fitness tracker. I use the health trackers daily and the fitness trackers multiple times weekly. I am an avid cyclist and hiker, and Garmin's functionality exceeds what my wife's Iwatch provides. I use the heart rate monitor function while cycling instead of a chest strap; although the watch format isn't as accurate as a chest strap, the accuracy is good enough for my needs. I also like how the Epix watch integrates with my Garmin cycle computer. I use a Garmin Edge 830 on the bike. Battery Life is great - the set-up I use has the battery lasting a little better than 10 days, and I always wear the watch, including while I sleep.

This watch is likely the last one you'll need for a very long time. It's incredibly accurate in all metrics as is expected in any Garmin, but the customization abilities for each activity really set this watch apart from everything else. It's literally a Fenix 7 but with an amazing AMOLED display, and once you use this display you'll never want to go back.

I liked the watch and wanted to keep it. But I ended up sending it back because it was too bright at night. On the lowest setting when the screen would wake up it would be bright.enought to wake me up. I wish there was a way to dim it down even more. I ended up sending it back. Unfortunately.

I bought the Epix 2 Gen 2 weeks ago, at the beginning i was afraid of the battery duration with the Amoled screen, but agter been using it the battery last almost a week with one hour 4 times a week or running using external HR band, GPS and Music. I only witch i have that battery duration with always on screen.
