Customer reviews for Stealth Pro Angler 11' 8" Fishing Kayak forI love this Kayak
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's bigger than your standard Tamarak but, as a larger individual, I needed a fishing kayak with a bigger weight capacity. This one handles my size just fine, plus offers a lot of the features of higher end fishing kayaks, at a lower cost.
great kayak "BUT"
Had this yak around a year or so...good yak.."BUT" would be really great yak IF the Sea-lect rudder they say will fit "Will NOT" and that is a quote from Sea-lect!! The handle on the stern is the problem and Sea-lect said needed to build a bracket to attach the rudder to that got I out past the handle...I see that FeelFree has a hole mount in the handle for that. I would give this yak a 10 star if it was not for the fact of the rudder issue. Shame on Lifetime.
After a year and a half of fishing from this Kayak review
I wanted to until after I was able to fish it regularly for at least a year to be able to give a real review of consistent use of this kayak. In short, I can say that this kayak is a great to fish out of and has been perfect for me and what I wanted in a fishing kayak. During the past 2 springs, 2 summers and 1 fall, I have been able to get out and fish from it, 2-3 days a week and when the weather permitted, a few times during the past winter as well. So in the past year and a half, I have had it out well over 100 times. Typically 2-4 hours each outing but I have been out as long as 8 hours. Seat is very comfortable for all day fishing! For reference, I am a 54 year old male, 6'1" tall and weigh 215lbs and this kayak is perfect size for me and very stable. I also take my 35lb dog with me regulary! At first, trying to standup and fish was a little nerve racking but after a few outings, it got easier and easier and now I stand without issue, though I prefer to stay seated most of the time since its easier to adjust positions with paddle while seated. Front hatch is awesome. I have stored up to 5 rods (longest was 7') in the hull while travelling to the lake or river. You will get a little moisture in the hull (nothing more than drops of water) like most kayaks, so I use a dry bag for other items to store in the hull. The only modifications that I have done are: added anchor trolley, added yakattack rod holder and railblaza cup holder to tracks, built a diy kayak crate with extra rod holders that fits perfect in rear well, and used foam golf balls as scupper plugs. It paddles really well and tracks nicely. This is the best low cost entry to getting on the water to fish that I found and have absolutely no buyers remorse at all. The only issue i have had was with some stitching coming undone on the seat. Customer Service rep (Dany) was awesome and I had a brand new seat sent to me at no charge since it was covered under warranty. Seat arrived within a few days of contacting support. I have had no problems loading and unloading into my ford ranger pickup and getting it in and out of body of water. Wheel in the keel is great on hard surfaces (pavement, dirt, short grass) but not great on gravel as stones will jam the wheel. In summary, would I get the same kayak again? Absolutely! I've caught some of the best fish of my life from this thing. The paddling allows me to stay in shape while doing it too. I can go virtually anywhere on a body of water that boats can't go. The money saved compared to more expensive kayaks, allowed me to put towards fishing gear. Pros: Comfort: The seat is really comfortable for all day fishing Stability Tracking Wheel in keel (on hard surfaces) Front hatch with access to hull Tracks to mount accessories Stand up assist strap Built in ruler on floor Dog friendly PRICE!!! does everything a more expensive Kayak will do. I see no reason to pay more Customer Service (Dany) - only issue I have had was resolved quickly and professionally. Cons:(not really cons but ways to improve the design) The way the bungees for the paddle holders are attached. I think the cord should be connected to an exernal connector as opposed to through the wall of the plastic. The built-in rod holders are angled just a little bit too much out to the side instead of angled back more. If you are casting with another rod, you can possibly hit or catch the rod in the holder. Doesn't happen often but I have done it a few times. Use a bigger wheel (and hard rubber) in the keel that can traverse gravel paths.
My first kayak is a winner
I just got this kayak this month and have been out on it 3 times already. I was able to stand up in it easily on my first outing. I am 6'2" and 225 lbs. I researched for a long time and this one had the best bang for the buck. It tracks well and is very stable. I especially like how comfortable and adjustable the seat is. Also, customer service (Darwin) was excellent.
I love it, I hate it!
I bought this kayak almost 2 months ago. I have been out on it pretty much every weekend since i purchased it. I am torn on how to rate this kayak, i love it, I hate it! On the water it performs awesome! I float rivers bow fishing for 6 to 8 hours and i don't get uncomfortable at all. I've been on big open water with big boats and it never gives you the sense of flipping. In short it is solid and comfortable on the water, and for a bigger guy of 250 lbs and over 6 foot, that was what I was looking for. I love the versatility that the rail system gives me. I can be set up with multiple fishing poles, or bow fishing mounts, or both. It moves with ease on the water and with openness of the cockpit area you can set in multiple positions. It is also really easy to get in and out of. It really is a great boat, that you are not in a hurry to get out of. Unless of course something breaks.... Now for the not so good. The seat, although very comfortable, is very cheaply made. I have not been able to set up at the higher position as the ends of the metal poles are cut too short and they just slip out of the locks. Last night the dang thing just broke, and now i am with out a seat! They use very, very cheap plastic at crucial points in this chair. Every place there is plastic on this chair I have experience failures, i.e. end caps and t-couplers. If this kayak didn't perform so well on the water i would of rated this thing with zero stars, for quality defects. The Dry storage area is useless. Mine leaks and having read other reviews this seems to be a common thing. I knew that this was a possibility so i just use a dry bag. HOWEVER; Unless you are out on the lake with other kayakers there is no way you are getting inside that thing while on the water without flipping. And on a side note, if you flip this kayak everything you have with you will end up at the bottom of the lake. I had to go diving for my bow and fishing poles, fun times! So even though it is stable you can flip this kayak, in my case the flipping was my own stupid fault and not something to ding in a review for. So if you like to take things on the water, like snacks, phones, fishing tackle boxes. Be aware if you flip its either safely in the useless dry box or in the lake. For the price you pay for this kayak over the others, you would think you were buying quality. ESPECIALLY the seat, as it is kind of the focal point on this boat. Come on Lifetime!

Perfect boat for a big guy
I bought this 10 months ago. I am very happy with the performance. I am tall and weigh 240. It gets me around very wellThe Yak gear rails are great. I put an anchor wizard on it and have more room. Plenty of room for gear. It looks sleek on the water. Only complaint is it did have a small cut on the bow but other than that it is a great buy. I recommend it.
Best all around
I bought this at the lifetime outlet in Ogden and hauled it home to Colorado. This kayak is to me the best built and structurally sound of any for the money. The employees at the lifetime store are awesome and the customer service is excellent.
Good but a little heavy, could be a little wider
I like this kayak for a first time buyer but I can see that it could be a bit wider and sit out of the kayak a bit higher even at it's highest seat height. It is a bit heavy as well.
Well rounded boat
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad (B-stock) and it was just in great shape and had wonderful accessories. The seat was super comfortable and just by sitting in it I could tell the stability of the boat!
Amazing kayak
I bought one for me last year and another this year for my wife! These kayaks are amazing!! I’ve added a few additions to them to customize my fishing experience
