Excellent Offroad Tire

I've been running 37 and now 39” BFG KM3 for the last 8 years on two vehicles. They are outstanding tires. Provide great traction and are very durable in the rocks. They always easily balance and are significantly lighter than competitors mud tires.

Great tire, but pretty expensive now.

I've ran the 39x13.5r17 KM3s for 2+ years and over 40k miles on my Jeep Gladiator. I've put these tires through all kinds of terrains and weather conditions from dirt, sand, rock crawling, mud, rain, hail, rock crawling in thunder storms and they haven't let me down. I keep rotate them every 3k to 5k miles and they have worn evenly. The side walls have been holding up great and the side bitters have provided plenty of traction when needed. The light weight of the tires is also a plus. My only gripe is these tires have gotten fairly expensive since I purchased them in 2021. The price has increased roughly by about $250 per tire. They are almosted priced near the cost of some 42s. Well known competitors 40s don't even cost as much as these 39s. With that being said it opens the door to try some of the top competitor's tires for about $200 less per tire. These 39s compared to most 40s make the 39s look like 37s because of the actual size.

Third set on off-road land cruiser

These are 45,000 miles off-road tires that might lack a little mud traction but make up in all other forms of off-road traction. They're quiet on the streets, Good, breaking when, wet and tougher side wall with its polyester fibers embedded in the sidewall rubber making it virtually split proof

Lasted from Mexico to the tip of Argentina and back!

We replaced our aging K02's in Oaxaca, Mexico with a set of KM3's and they took us exploring offroad through the jungles of Central America to the great Paracas sand dunes of Peru to the Bolivian and Brazilian Amazon jungle. Had enough tread to make it back to the USA. Shocked they lasted that long on our heavily loaded Land Cruiser.

I love them

I love them. I've had all three versions of the mud terrain line on my truck (I have owned it for over thirty years, 316,000 miles). The original looked great, wore reasonably well but mileage suffered. The KM2 provided poor mileage and looked worn after 5000 miles. I didn't like them at all and went to Cooper's for the next set. I didn't want to buy the KM3 when it was time for new tires but the comparable All Terrain was too wide for my wheels so I went ahead and got the KM3s (255/85 16- Tall and skinny). My mileage is back to what I was getting with stock tires. No noticeable road noise, of course my 4x4 Cummins is kinda noisy already. Finally, I'm not sure how many miles I have put on them but probably at least 10K and they still look the same as new. I'm not doing heavy offroad driving but snow, mud and steep gravel driveways have not been a problem so I think traction is more than adequate.

Greatest tire ever

I bought my set of 35x12.5x15 km3 a little over 3 years ago, I've owned my Jeep for over 28 years by far the best tire ever . It makes the Jeep ride smoother for sure. I've been off road in light and rough terrain and they perform excellent. I would recommend these tires to anyone looking for great ride and great grip. BF Goodrich did their homework and research when they came up with the Km3. CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. OIIIIO

Had KM 2' on 3 trucks....love them. Bought a new trucks k in 2016 and immediately looked for a set of KM's. That year, the KM3 was new, purchased and installed. 7 years and 103,000 miles later looking for another set. This set still has miles left on them. Just time. Rotated every 5k and balanced every 15k or so. Never been let down in some of nastiest stuff the swamps of maryland can dish out.

Awesome mileage and off-road toughness/traction

I bought these for my 2017 Colorado ZR2 in 285/70/17 (E load) when they first came out in June of 2018. Overall, I got 66,000 miles out of them. They could have gone another 5k miles or so, but I believe I potentially got a slightly defective tire, as it has worn unevenly and is not perfectly round. Thus, there is now too much vibration to continue driving on this set. The other three tires in the set have worn and performed perfectly. The worst of the tires is pictured below. I always rotated the tires during oil changes. However, I elected to live with the “bad” tire and it was fine. It only became a problem in the last month due to the vibrations in the cab and steering wheel because of the imperfect shape. This was a very early set of KM3s so I'm not upset or surprised by this, as I think it is bound to happen. I took these tires to MOAB and on other off-road trails and they were very tough and had great traction. I'm giving 4 stars because the on-road ride quality leaves a bit to be desired, between the noise and vibration I experienced. I have since moved from CA to CO and need better snow traction. So I swapped out the KM3s for KO2s. Sticking with BFGoodrich!!! Don't let my story stray you from these tires. Overall, they were awesome! I just have different needs now. I would also recommend a C load rating if you drive a smaller vehicle like mine. The E was a bit stiff for my truck (running at 38 psi).

OK tires for Rock crawling

I have around 40k miles on my 37" Tires and they still have around 5k miles left The tires a difficult to balance but running quiet on the road Offrad in the rocks they ripping out big chunks of rubber what's concerning Those tires are more like a true 35" tire and not a 37" tire Will probably try a different Brand next time

KM3 is a poor design. Bring back KM2 or Krawler style..

KM3 mud terrains are a poor design. The tread depth is already too shallow when the tires are new. The KM3 wears out too fast. Please bring back the KM2, which was better looking, lasted much longer, and performed as well or better than the KM3. I would even buy the original design KM1 again over the KM3. Until BFG changes the design, I will not buy BFG mud tires again. These KM3s are like the old KO2 all terrains. Seems as though BFG is moving away from supporting the off-road enthusiasts. If BFG eliminates the Krawler, I guess I will not be buying any BFG ever again. Not to mention these tires do not clean well and are ugly. What was BFG thinking? Avoid the KM3s unless you don't need a mud tire and are just buying for looks and in which case there are better looking tires out there, just my honest opinion.
