Fresh....Not Long Lasting. Must be eaten within 2 days

This pineapple evidently was spoiled yesterday when we purchased it, it was not at the 'sell by date'. That evening I was going to enjoy a spear, the afterbite was horrible, couldn't eat anything but saltine crackers, it lasted for hours. My husband with an iron stomach ate a spear last night, no problems. This morning after a half spear, his lips started swelling, dumping in garden spot for critters to enjoy. Can't take it back, bought it a this Sam's club in Lexington, 100 miles from where we live, we were in town for a Dr. Apt. Soo disappointed. Canned version is much better. BTW, there is too much core left in the pieces.

Bought this at Miami Sam's Club three times. Never again. First time lasted in the fridge in the crisper drawer for a week. Second time it starting to go bad within a couple of days and by the third day had to throw it out. Thought I got just a bad batch so bought another one a month later within a couple days It went bad. A couple of the containers at Sam's Club produce were already starting to puff up and ferment.

This is by far the best and sweetest pineapple I have purchased. Better than Tops, Wegmans, etc. It stayed fresh and sweet for at least a week. That's how long it took for me to finish and in that time, it didn't turn brown or get soft. I will keep this on hand.

Because it is a "fresh" item, reviewed after many purchases: I don't just grab & go - I look & select. Most of the time, you can tell if it will be soggy and not quite ripe... It also helps that there is an expiration date. Besides, if they are not up to par, (after tasting ONE) take your receipt and the item back to customer service and let them know.

Although it was nice to not have to slice up a whole pineapple ourselves, this is a fairly expensive item and ours, on our first try was unfortunately not sweet and it seemed like it was not ripe enough. We will probably go back to just buying the pineapples and dicing them ourselves.
