I bought it to store dog food. The lid fits well and is snug. But the flip-top "pops" when you open it and is hard to close. It will not survive long.

I bought this thinking it wouldn’t be large enough. It was more than that it holds almost a 30lb bag of food. The easy pour handle is the best feature. It works better than good to feed two large huskies.

I bought this because I thought it was PERFECT to sit next to our smoker on the back deck. We'd been keeping our pellets in the pole barn, and it was sometimes a pain to have to get my husband to haul up a big when I was smokin'. This was perfect, holding the entire 40# bag of pellets. Very handy, with a nice tight-fitting lid, and an extra slot for pouring and additional for scooping. But it is not waterproof. Weather we've had has been some slightly gusty, mild storms, nothing severe. And we noticed today that over half the pellets are powdered from moisture. NOT happy, and while we likely will continue to use it, AND keep it covered as well, it was disgusting to have to pitch out almost an entire bag of pellets.

This is an awesome little container. Perfectly fits a 40lb bag of pellets. It helps protect them and keeps dust from crushed pellets down, and the pour spout is a nice feature! The "capacity" is designed for smoker pellets. You can't put 40lbs of dog food in it and expect it to fit. Dog food is lighter and has more mass than smoker pellets! Some people find math and physics difficult. Lol. I highly recommend this container.
