Works great for what I needed - had it for >12yrs

I was looking for the user manual to this device and stumbled across these reviews. I've had this label maker for at least 12 years and it has never failed. I believe that speaks volumes to the reliability of this label maker. The only thing I've never liked is the keyboard layout. I need to get used to it every time I make labels.

A workhorse

This is my second Rhino 5200. My other one has been my workhorse for some 20 years and has started having issues. It's survived drops, bangs and falls...until the plastic button for the cutter broke off. It still prints, and I can press the metal bar to cut, but I felt it was time for a new one.

Runs the Extra Mile

We have owned one for our company for five years now and picked up a second about one year ago, and they keep running. We have printed thousands of labels for our equipment and haven't had any issues. Prints quicker and quieter than other label makers we have had. Would recommend. Labels last well in the harsh Alaskan outdoors.

Great label maker for cables and switches

I am a member of a local ham club (Chippewa Valley Amateur Radio Club). We have used this label maker to print labels for our gear/cables in our various tower shacks. Does a GREAT job. Only wish it could print the "@" character....but very happy with the printer.

Great Labelmaker

I have had this printer for several years and it works very well and the battery lasts a long time. I did notice that the print quality degraded after a while. I tried changing the tape but that did not help. Although the display showed the battery was good, I charged it anyway. That seems to have fixed the label quality problem. I like the way the nylon labels stick to just about anything.

works great!

I had used cheaper home label machines for labeling wires in A/V systems only to find out that even in complete darkness, wires that were labeled then terminated in a light tight, dry cabinet or even in a wall, would completely fade in about 5 years. I bought the Rhino 5200 and was amazed by all the features, i can label network panels, electrical panels and my favorite feature, cable labeling. The heat shrink tubing option is also a great feature! The first thing I did was take a 2 ft piece of coax cable and printed a dozen labels with different tapes, nylon vinyl, polyester and heat shrink, (the nylon and heat shrink stick the best in every situation BTW). I then tossed the labeled wire up on my roof where it was exposed to the harsh southern Arizona sun and weather for almost 2 years. the other day i ws on the roof for another issue and found the wire, the labels were all still on the wire, ( cable wrap, flags, etc) and had NOT faded at all! the nylon labels stick best, the vinyl not so much. print quality declines when batteries are low. what would be great is if they made a white on black flexible nylon tape. I have also used off brand tapes with good results as well. Long story short, this is great label printer!

Great Until Display Blanked Out

We have lightly used this label maker on-and-off for the past 10 years. It sat unused for the last year, and now the display is blank. Searched the web and tried resetting it, thinking that the LCD might have been set too lightly. Unfortunately unable to fix it, so we will end up throwing it out. We have cheaper Dymo labelers bought at the same time and they are still working. The unit was great until now, but we will not buy another since it was not used much and did not last.

Broken - No service offered by dymo

Worked great when new but now stuck on select tape width. Reset several time by pressing 6 and power but it gets to tape width select and wont select any chosen. Got past this once by pressing random buttons but cannot repeat whatever i did!! Using proper dymo cartridges! and left battery out for weeks to hopefully clear it (no luck). Dymo response is buy another!
