It's nice to use around sinks and the counter. I've used it mostly on ants which is effective. I tried using it on a fly. It didn't die on contact so not sure if it worked but did kill most of the ants on initial contact.

For our first use, we sprayed it around the door frame in the evening to try and get rid of flies. It left behind a very oily residue and the smell was overwhelming—so strong that no one wanted to be outside for several days. While I'm not sure it repelled the flies, it definitely repelled the people. For the second use, I sprayed it directly on an active ant pile. Despite letting it sit for about five minutes, it had little effect. Only a few ants were dead when I returned, and the rest were still very much active. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spray. It was messy, unpleasant to be around, and ineffective for our purposes.

(A different brand uses minty smells and I love it and it works faster) this one is effective but doesn't seem to work as fast. So to me it is much less effective The sprayer works well giving a nice mist and I love that is safe around pets but I can't stand the geranium like scent .

Normally, if I get any insects in the house it is little ants looking for water, so naturally they go to the sinks and my cat's water and food bowl. In the past I have use vinegar and lots of scrubbing. So I am prepared for those ants this summer! So far no ants but I did for some reason have little fruit flies in my kitchen. I sprayed the Stem spray and that was that! No more fruit flies. It does not have have a strong scent at all, honestly I didn't smell anything so that is definitely a plus.
