Excellent tread wear, last set went 80,500 miles.

Excellent replacement tire of the same prior Defender LTX M/S model which lasted 80,500 with no service issues. Tires ride great, are quiet, and have excellent traction. Unfortunately, the manufacture date on the tires is 4423 which means the 44th week of 2023, so the new tires were actually 2 and one half years past their manufacture date when sold and installed.

NOT your dads LTX, for sure a downgrade

I used to use the LEGENDARY original LTX on my HD trucks. That tire was amazing in every way. This replacement not so much. Tire has about 45 to 50k miles on them and one is separating and the rest show substantial wear on edges and across treads. Will be searching for a new brand. Try new things win new prizes Michelin. You knew you had a winner with the original LTX.

    Great handling in crisis situation

A year ago, my 2008 F150 needed new tires. The original tires were 255/65-17 but Michelin had none in inventory and none scheduled to be produced so I had bought the 265/65-17. The tires have great road handling grip as was illustrated a short time after the purchase. During a rainstorm on an isolated two lane black-top, they helped me avoid a head-on collision when a car crossed into my lane and just kept coming despite my flashing headlights and blasting of the horn. I had two of my 14 year olds with me and since there were no other cars on the road, we quickly swerved to the left as the "distracted driver" flew past us in our lane at 70+ mph. I immediately thanked the Lord for the new Michelins and our safety. Today, after 16,000 miles t...

Put these LTX M/S tires ...

Put these LTX M/S tires on my Silverado and I love them. I have 40,000 miles on them and have over half the tread left. I take a 3500 mile trip each fall and the additional comfort I experience while on the road is amazing. I especially like the quiet ride. Here in Florida, they work especially well in the sand we deal with any time we are off the road. I highly recommend this tire and will replace them with the same M/S or the new M/S2 if they ever wear out.

Long tread life and great traction

Have had these Michelins for about 2 years and they have performed very, very well. They ride smooth and quiet. They are wearing very well and still have a lot of tread on them. The wet weather grip is excellent, a big plus for me. A lot of tires may grip well in dry weather. The tire that grips well in wet conditions is the one I need, and the Michelins come through like the true winner they are when the conditions are nasty outside. The handling is very good too. I would definitely buy another set of these. I recommended them to my son and he put a set on his vehicle. He is very pleased with them as well. A great all around tire.

    LTX tire noise

I have always been a Michelin fan. The recent set of LTX's were installed at time of vehicle purchase in 2019 and got me 90,000 miles. I purchased a new set in May of 2022, they have roughly 10k miles on them. After the first rotation they began to howl. I expected a little but not like this. I took the vehicle to point of purchase and inquired about the noise. We rotated front to back but the noise remains. It's been too long and too many miles for a tire adjustment from the store so i'm about to pay additional money to swap out the tires for a new set but after reading other reviews about the noise i'm afraid my money will not be well spent. To me it seems Michelin's improvement to an already great tire is ruining my enjoyment of driving ...

    Just Purchased 10/25/2019

I have purchased Michelin Tires since the 1970's, everytime I have thought... hmmm, wonder if there is a better tire and purchased another brand... I paid for it up the b.... I'm reading all the bad reviews, so I will set a baseline here & now. I will definetly be back if these tires don't live up to the warranty. But, I can say all my Michelin Tires from the past exceded the warranty, my other car, a Celica, the Michelins have out lasted the warranty. The ride for the last 6 days have been very nice so far, just like always.

    I owned a set of ...

I owned a set of Michelins on a Volvo I once owned. Now that I have a daughter and I am concerned about her safety more than my own and she needed good tires I bought her the best that I once knew of: Michelin. If I can afford them for my wife, (she's the primary driver in our home), her next set of tires will be Michelins also.

    Excellent on road ...

Excellent on road manners...my 92 Jeep xj feels new again! Yes a bit more expensive up front, but wear pays for the extra expense...they wear like iron...I have Michelins on my work truck as well. My wife's Passat is also ready for some new rubber...she got 65k out of the last pair of Micheline MXV4 Pilots and I can probably wait till spring, but with winter coming, I am going to replace them...with Michelines of course!

    Best

I have a 1998 GMC Suburban. After I wore out the factory tires at @ 25,000 miles that came on this vehicle when I bought it new. I then decided to get Michelins, from past experience. I have over 180,000 miles on my truck. I am on my second set of Michelins and still going strong. I get a consistent 70,000 to 75,000+ on these tires. You do get what you pay for absolutely. Michelin,...see ya soon for my next set.

    Great Tires!

I've only had these tires for two months. So far, they are excellent in all aspects. No noise! They look great! They provide a smooth ride! This is the fifth set of Michelin tires for my truck and so far I have never gone wrong with staying with Michelin. Worth the money

I bought these tires for my Ford Edge base on recommendations from friends. So far I have been very happy with their performance. They ride great and are quiet. They have also performed well in the snow here in Michigan. We are so happy with the tires, we are looking at getting them for our Ford F150.

My set of Michelin LTX ...

My set of Michelin LTX M/S 265x75x16R tires are far and away the best tires I have ever purchased. This was also the first full set of Michelin tires I have purchased and now I am a true believer. Wear and ride comfort are unmatched by any other tire I have owned.

    My local service station ...

My local service station talked me into another major brand of tire to replace my worn LTX Michelins. I developed a wobble in the front end of my Chevy Tahoe that I never had before. They balanced the tires, rotated them, did an alignment, shocks, etc. and could not cure the problem. Finally they replaced the tires with a new set of the same brand and I still had the wobble. I finally took my truck to a Chevy dealer and they told me the tires were out of round. I replaced the tires with new Michelin LTX M/Ss and never had the problem again. That was 70,000 mile ago and they're still in great shape. I'll always use Michelin. Great tires!

    Nice But Didn't Last

I purchased these tires for my Tahoe in 2016 because they came highly recommended. I've really liked their performance over these years with the gentle driving I do, mostly city -short distance to work, errands, and one trip to Colorado. However, I've only driven 38,000 miles thus far and am being told I need to replace due to tread wear. I understand the recommended replacement time period, but it seems the tread should have lasted longer than this. Am I missing something?

    long lasting tire

I replaced a set of big lug mud and snow tires that were horrible in the snow, these tire bite the snow and ice and brought back confidence on the snowy Vermont roads I travel in the winter. Just about every drive home was in a snowstorm, these tires perform well.

    Like buttah, baby!

I put the Michelin tires on my 2008 Silverado extended cab that has some suspension mods that made it run hard and loud on the stock tires. I also needed higher load rating tires than the stock ones I was rolling on. The Michelins were like nirvana...very quiet and smooth on the road...like buttah, baby! They are wearing very well, too. So, I am going to put a set on my Durango next. Great tire!

    I love this tire

This is the second set of LTX M/S tires we've owned. The first set lasted 105,000 miles and were replaced due to age not tire wear. After 105, 000 miles they still rode as smooth and performed flawlessly. The 2nd set is living up to the same expectations.

    EXCELLENT TIRES!

These tires have given me years of great service. I have had them on my Ford Ranger, Ford F150, and Ford Excursion. They are not by any means the cheapest tires for these vehicles, but they offer great ride quality, low noise, and I have never had one with any type of defect throughout the life of the tire.

    Tire Quality

I have been buying Michelin tires for 40 years now. Overall I have been quite satisfied with the wear patterns, reliability and service life of the tires. I have had Michelin tires on light trucks, vans, SUV's, sedans, sports cars and mid-range trucks. The Defender LTX M/S for my 2015 RAM 2500 4x4 Turbo diesel 3/4 ton truck only lasted 20 months and less than 30,000 miles. They were religiously rotated every 5,000 miles, not used for heavy loads or towing, little mountain road driving and no off road use. They all four (4) wore evenly but did not reach any where near the 50,000 service life expectancy.

2 year review on michelim defender

I had Michelin Defender tires for 2 years. They were awesome! These tires really stuck to the road, and I felt safe even when it rained. They hardly wore out, so I didn't have to buy new ones. It was like having a reliable friend on the road. I'll definitely get them again. Great tires!
