Great snow tires even better than my old X-ice tires.

Great snow tires. These tires are prenominal in the ice a d snow. I have driven in white out conditions on ice with 4 to 5 inches of snow with no slipping at all. I had to drive through some snowbanks left by the plow and went through them with no issues.

Excellent Traction in Real Winter Conditions

I’ve been using the Michelin X-Ice Snow tires for about three months now, and overall I’m very satisfied with their performance. With the amount of snow and ice we’ve had, the traction and performance have been great. Braking and cornering feel confident, and the vehicle remains stable even in harsher winter conditions. Road noise is low for a winter tire, and the ride is smooth and predictable in cold temperatures. Fuel economy impact appears minimal, which is a plus for daily driving. So far, wear looks even across all tires. Based on my experience to date, I would recommend the X-Ice Snow to other drivers looking for dependable winter performance.

Great traction

These tires are great. Installed a set shortly before a trip from midwest to TX. Left in a rather severe snowstorm. Interstate was white with packed snow. Vehicle felt very stable with no slippage detected. Wound up on a state hwy for a stretch with 2-5" inches of fresh snow w/snow still falling. Remarkable traction. Then we encountered slush as we continued south. Again the performance was exceptional. And they are very smooth and quiet on good roads.

I like the quality of these tires

I think these tires are perfect. I have RWD Cadillac, and my winter experience was awesome. It gives very nice control at mid snow depth, and still can let you our in high depth snow. It is a top brand, and it gives you exactly what you are expecting to get.

Confident, Quiet, and Perfect for Winter EV Driving

I recently switched to Michelin X-Ice tires for my electric vehicle, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. From the first snowfall, these tires have delivered exactly what I was hoping for — confidence, control, and comfort. They handle beautifully in all winter conditions — whether it’s icy back roads, slushy intersections, or packed snow. The traction is solid and predictable, and braking feels secure even in challenging situations. My EV’s instant torque can be tough on tires in the winter, but the X-Ice grips so well that acceleration remains smooth and stable. Another big advantage is how quiet they are. Since EVs don’t have engine noise, tire sound becomes more noticeable, and I was pleasantly surprised by how refined these feel on the road. They also seem to have low rolling resistance, so I haven’t noticed any major impact on range. After several weeks of mixed winter driving, I can confidently say the Michelin X-Ice tires live up to their reputation. They provide excellent safety and comfort without sacrificing efficiency — exactly what an EV driver needs in a winter tire.

Great for confident winter driving

I am so thrilled with these tires. I live in and commute in rural New Hampshire and Vermont, and I have felt very confident when driving in this winter’s messy ice and snow. I can easily get out of snow, and I haven’t struggled with maintaining traction on any roads, whether they were highway, state roads, or unpaved back roads. The ride is also very smooth.

Still a great choice - the Michelin Ice-X

I have the latest Michelin IceX and if anything, traction and grip seem not as good as previous versions of this tire. I drive an Audi All Road and am surprised, this winter, when I go around a corner at a reasonable speed and experience some fish tailing. Still I love that the tire is the quietest snow tire, and when starting from a standing stop I can always move forward.

Excellent performance in snow & ice but terrible in heavy rain.

These tires work very well in snow and ice on my 07 Honda pilot. I've noticed great stopping performance, smooth & very little road noise. But despite excellent winter performance I had the scare of my life with these tires due their hydroplaning performance! I was caught on a sudden rain storm passing through CT and my vehicle almost hydroplaned twice despite driving under the speed limit due to bad weather. I don't recommend these if you live in places where rain storms are common in winter, these tire shine in very cold temperatures, snow and ice.

Tire Performance Report — Real-World Observations Dry Road Performance: The tires perform well on dry roads, maintaining stability and predictable handling. They demonstrate excellent grip and directional control in both cold and mild temperatures. Wet Road Performance: On wet surfaces, the tires are unsatisfactory. There is noticeable lateral slippage, frequent activation of the vehicle’s stability control system, and compromised grip, leading to reduced confidence during driving. Snow and Winter Conditions: In winter conditions, particularly on snow, the tires exhibit significant instability. During lane transitions, the rear axle tends to slide, causing repeated stability system interventions. The vehicle feels unsettled, and the tires fail to maintain a consistent trajectory. These tires are not recommended for use as winter tires in snowy conditions. Cornering and Handling: During turns, the tires provide poor lateral support. Both axles experience slippage, reducing the ability to maintain proper control. This effect is especially pronounced when moving from one rut to another. Inclines and Sloped Roads: On inclined or sloped surfaces at speeds as low as 20 km/h, the vehicle tends to drift off the road without corrective input, demonstrating a critical lack of directional stability. Overall Safety Assessment: Based on real-world driving experience, these tires are highly unsafe in wet, snowy, and sloped conditions. They may only be suitable for use in autumn and spring, on well-maintained roads. Extreme caution is recommended when operating under adverse conditions. These tires are not recommended. They are unsafe on the road, particularly in wet, snowy, or icy conditions. Seek alternative options for winter driving.
