KO’s /KO2

I love my BFG KO2s on my jeep wrangler JK Unlimited. I’ve had them on my jeep since my very first one when I was 15 years old all I ever ran on them had the first gen KOs now KO2s on my other jeeps the performance in the mud saying rain snow been to great and with the mileage you can get out of them I lower the pusher down to 18 psi rock crawling with factory rimes and never lost a bead wile pushing on the side wall against rocks and climbing out of mud hole and climbing up steep hills wile raining with red clay they always surprised me and ever one else I go riding with in the Jeep seen I hang with all of them I’m 28 and never ran anything other then KO’s and KO2S never had a flat tire had 5 Nails in one back tire but never lost air and never took them out for the life of them just all around good tires could not be happier with them

More quiet than anticipated

I like the tire's ride and performance, although I've only experienced dry pavement and gravel so far. Even at greater inflation than my previous tires, they have a comfortable, slightly cushioned feel that dampens pavement irregularities I used to feel. They are also quieter than I expected. I'm entirely pleased so far - waiting for the snow to fall. They also seem to shed gravel pretty well before I reach pavement unlike my previous tires.

A long time user rave.

I first encountered the KO fitted new to a 1989 Nissan Safari 4x4 fresh off the boat as a used Japanese import in 1999. 290,000 km later I am on my 3rd set of KOs. Also I am running them on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have never been stuck in mud or snow and have only ever had one puncture. The wear is amazing, 80 to 100,000 km from new down to 3mm tread depth. I find them a quiet running tyre but they do get a bit noisy when the tread wears down below 5-6mm. In short, I love 'em! I can't justify using Mud Terrains because I seldom require anything that aggressive. I'm just a bit annoyed that I can't get a set of KOs in 225-60R18 for my wife's 2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara. Operating conditions: Safari: 265-75R16 on 8" rims. (Australian Spec)* Jeep: 255-70R16 on standard rims (Standard Spec) * Note: Australian spec actually specifies 265-70 section. Thanks, BFG, for a pretty amazing tyre.

Good all-season tire

Bought these all-season tires for my 2018 Silverado 2500HD. Love them when they are new. After 30k miles they tend to be much louder and noticeably start to lose their traction 6/32"-7/32" tread depth left. These replaced Duratracs (more mud terrain oriented and not an A/S tire) which were howlers after 30k and not severe winter rated for LT275/65R18E sized tires. These tires are much better in the wet, dry, snow and for summer towing duties called upon it to do. I don't need a more aggressive (M/T) tire since I never take it in conditions that call for it. When you get to 5/32 start looking for replacements if you drive in wet or snowy weather.

Faulty Tire Valves, Poor Handling in Snow

Had a blow out in December and replaced 2 of my 4 tires, I’ve now become aware the tire valves on 2 of my 4 tires are faulty, I’ve had NOTHING but problems since I started running these on my Subaru Forester. I will never buy BF Goodrich tires ever again in my life and I will recommend the same to ALL of my family and friends. These tires also handle quite poorly in the snow, they’re no better than your cheapest all seasons.

Not all that tough of a tire!

I expected these tires to be tougher than they actually are. The tires are not that noisy which is a plus and road force balancing is a must! The local tire shop could not get the balancing right until I took it to get road force balanced. Tread design lends itself to catching rocks! I had one that spiked itself into the tire and gave me a flat! No off roading - no trails - I only drove down a gravel driveway (the one and only time!) I can not say I would ever consider buying them again! I loved my old BFG but these are a dud in my book (my old truck with the BFGs have been up and down that driveway at least 100 times and never had any rocks stuck in the tread!

Good tire but has balance issues.

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra Limited 4X4 with 275/65/18 tires. I purchased the tires over two years ago and have put about 12,000 miles on them. Overall I'm very happy with the tire. I knew I'd lose some fuel mileage when I switched from the stock Rugged Trails. I'm averaging 13 mpg compared to 15 mpg previously. I pull a tandem axle trailer for our Boy Scout troop every month. Fully loaded it weighs in around 7,000 pounds. I've also maxed out the truck pulling a S250 Bobcat and they handled it great great. The difference in handling on and off road is exponentially better. I've driven them in snow a few times and didn't need to put it in four wheel drive to go up hills from a dead stop. Of course I drove them too hard to find their breaking point which was considerably more than I would have expected. My plow truck has Gdyr Dtrac on it and the KO2's are much quieter and handle the snow and ice much better. These tires were about $400 more than a Gdyr tire that I was also looking at. Other than the price, the only complaint that I have is keeping them balanced. They've been rotated twice and each time the tires have needed to be rebalanced. Talking with the dealer, they've had to do this a lot with the KO2's. I'm told that they are wearing good so time will tell what kind of mileage I end up getting out of them. I purchased a high quality tire so I'd expect to get good wear out of them.

KO2 285/70-17

Better than the Ko1 design as far as the side wall. Not better in performance. For snow I prefer the Mud terrain over this tire. AT fills with snow/mud and does not clear it out like the MT does. If you do mostly street driving this is a good tire, If you do any type of winter driving, mild off-roading or aggressive off-roading just scratch the AT off the list and buy a different tire. Will not buy the All Terrain again...

My New KO2's Saved the Day

Several Weeks ago I purchased a set of KO2's for my 2012 F-150 King Ranch 4 X 4 (with Max tow package) to replace my factory highway tires. My truck is used in a wide range of driving conditions for South Louisiana, including high speed highway driving, local trips, towing my 9,500 lb travel trailer, and sometimes mud driving. I use my truck for my job as the director of the local levee district. These tires look and handle great. My fuel economy appears to be the same as before. Today, my new tires were put to the ultimate test. I was at the end of a new 3 mile dirt levee under constriction when it suddenly started raining very hard, which occurs frequently in South Louisiana in the summer time. This is the first time that I really needed to use my 4wd low setting. My new KO2's saved the day and I was able to get out of a potentially very bad situation. I honestly believe that I would have bogged down with my old tires and would have needed a tractor or bulldozer to pull me out. Great Tires!
