One of the best tires out there!

Put these on a 2006 Silverado. Tires had a little over 60k on them when I traded it in recently, and they could've gone another 10k before needing replaced. Lots of heavy towing and hauling as well. No complaints at all, one of the best all terrains on the market.

I really don't understand why so many dislike them

Bought them last fall for my overlanding rig, ran them hard for over a year now & put ~20,000 miles on them. I will likely re-buy another set in 285/70R17 (C-rated) once tread runs out on the current set. Overall very happy and confused why a lot of people in the community keep thrashing this tire ... the below is fully based on my own experiences, I do not claim to be an off-road expert nor did I have a lot of comparisons with other truck tires. I paid for my tires. PROs: + Ability off-road ... I have been throwing rock gardens/shelves, deep sand, muddy forest roads, desert roads, deep snow at these tires and never had any traction issues off-road. If other tires are even better I haven't been in a situation (yet) where that would've mattered ... the areas where I feel they excelled at (even vs. other off-roaders I met on the trails) were: (1) deep snow and (2) deep sand - others got stuck and we didn't + Quiet on the highway, light, didn't affect fuel consumption much (~1 mpg) when I switched from the stock tires in 255/75R16 to 265/70R17 KOs (they are the lightest tire in this class ... which is noticeable in terms of performance, breaking, MPGs) + Even wear & durable: 20,000 miles, rotation every 5,000 miles, balancing after 15,000 miles - still enough tread for another 20-30k + Looks: Subjective but I like them over a lot of other A/T tires CONs: - Tendency to hydroplane in wet conditions - scary, but manageable - Traction on packed snow or ice is not great - didn't run into these conditions off-road but on regular streets in the winter I got into some sketchy situations - They wander a bit when changing lanes at higher speeds (>75mph) ... but that's to be expected when getting C-rated tire on a ~6,000lbs rig (fully loaded) Some other thoughts: > C-rated over E-rated tire all day ... been pushing them aired down on sharp rocks and haven't had any flats or cracks in the tire > the weight does matter ... especially on our somewhat underpowered Tacomas (even with re-gear) ... it's nice to have a bit of extra punch vs. some other A/T tires that are 20% heavier > In dry / sandy states these tires are really hard to beat. In some rainier / wetter states like Washington there are other tires that perform better in wet conditions ... but so far not enough to change my mind ;)

KO vs KO2 is on

I have a 2006 Silverado 1500HD LT 6.0 50k miles original owner. I put a set of BFG KO Lt315/70r17D about 7 yrs ago 40k I love the tire so much I bought a set of BFG KO2 265/70r16E The KO2 looks great if it performs as well I will be happy. The KO have done me well in sand snow wet towing and still have 40 to 50% tread left but its been 7 years i dont want to risk a problem with old tires. Im going back to my original dia 30.4 to up my tow n brake rating. Ive driven on the beach and it rides ontop of the sand never digs in and my truck weighs close to 7k with a full tank of gas. I drove in 36" of unplowed snow no problem my front end and bumper was the plow lol. My MPG is 12 city 18 hwy with the KO Lt315/70r17D and should improve with the KO2 Lt265/70r16E or stay the same. there about 100 lbs rotating mass differance between to 2 and 400 to 500 rpm so the weight diff is a wash from the rotating mass. I will update after ive driven a bit so right now my opinion is based on my KO performance over the last 7 years

Best tires I've owned

I have been driving F-150's for over 13 years and gone through 3-4 sets of tires, and I just put these tires on my 2005 about 6 months ago. I waited about 12 years too long! I've driven on OEM tires mostly, but these far outperform them. They've done great in the snow, slush, and ice this winter. I have an inclined driveway, maybe 25-30 degrees, and I can shift into 4WD and back up my driveway from a dead stop on the ice, no problem. Last year, with the OEM's, my back tires would spin out every time! They even handle better on dry pavement than my old tires did. About the most expensive all-terrain tires you can buy, but well worth the extra 30-50$ apiece, in my opinion. They show no signs of wear yet, but I'll be replacing them with the same thing when they finally wear out.

Nice looking

I put a set of 315/70/17 KO's on my chevy diesel what a difference 1.5 more MPG and now I can actually hear the radio in my truck, plus in the snow it is night and day difference. I installed a set of 265/75/16 KO2's on my 2000 gmc work truck. This truck has never acted so secure on snowy roads.

My last set lasted 108k miles.

I just replaced a set of these tires with 108,000 miles on them. 275/70R17 on a 9,500lb Ford E-350 4x4. Mostly pavement miles with use in rain and snow; occasion dirt and mud use/mild off-road. They have performed admirably in every condition I've used them and held up for an amazing number of miles. A fantastic value all around and I won't buy anything else for this rig.

KO2 285/70-17

Better than the Ko1 design as far as the side wall. Not better in performance. For snow I prefer the Mud terrain over this tire. AT fills with snow/mud and does not clear it out like the MT does. If you do mostly street driving this is a good tire, If you do any type of winter driving, mild off-roading or aggressive off-roading just scratch the AT off the list and buy a different tire. Will not buy the All Terrain again...

Great tire for off road use and daily driving

I got these about 2 years ago after a nail at a construction site got in my stock tacoma Tires. Every one says to get these on tacoma pages. So these are my 1st AT tires. So far i love them, they look great, they barely added road noise and they have handled mud and sand like a breeze. The handled the snowmageddon of Texas 2021 with ease. I would highly recommend these tires.

Tires won't balance

Purchased (5) 35x12.50r17 KO2s and immediately had a vibration at speed. 600 miles and 4 balance jobs later, the tires will not properly balance. Tires have been broken and spun on wheels to no avail. Severely disappointed at this point, these tires are pricey. I didn't read review beforehand, as BFG has a great reputation and I've been through 3 sets of the original KOs, however, it appears I'm one of many people to have this problem. I've submitted a warranty claim and will update this review pending the result.
