Absolutely great in the snow and ice

When I'm driving on snow covered roads, I am so glad to have these tires equipped. It's like the snow is not even there. They also handle exceptionally well on icy roads. The tires are also pretty quiet for winter tires - on dry, bare pavement, they're quieter than the factory-installed all season tires. I wouldn't consider anything but Michelin when buying tires.

Best winter tires I have ever own by far.

Bought these brand new for both my car and SUV (Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Manual Hatch 2018 and Lincoln MKX 2.7 2016) in 16" and 20". Super comfortable, low noise and rides like a train on track. No regret. Only Michelin on my cars for both winter and summer. After all, they invented the tire and they still are the best.

These are a solid choice for an all around winter tire.

These replaced a set of X-ICE 3 that were 4 years old. The only issue I had with the 3s is how they handled deeper snow. The X-ICE Snow have taken care of that, without losing any of the other handling of the original 3s. Highly recommend these

Great wet handling, quiet, grip on packed snow and ice

Purchased a full set for my 2017 Ram Promaster FWD work van. Put them on in late October as the wet and cold weather hits the Pacific Northwest. They grip well going uphill in wet conditions from a stop (particularly downtown seattle's hills). Stop short on wet roads without the ABS kicking in. They feel a little softer in the sidewalls than my summer tires when cornering or changing lanes, just a bit squishy/slow to react. I increased the air pressure to 40psi to compensate. Handled great in compact and fresh snow/slush, very little spin, even on an incline. Braking is the most impressive feature. Many collisions avoided. Safety is priceless. We will see how many seasons they last (4-5+). There is no weather-related excuse not to get to a jobsite with these tires, but you may be the only one that gets there!

Not Satisfied

I had heard about Michelin a lot from my friends, and based on their advice, I bought a new set last month. I feel they are fine for snow but not for icy conditions in Edmonton or Alberta, especially when your car is not an SUV or all-wheel drive. So, I will not recommend this set of tires for small cars.

SEA TO SKY HIWAY

I needed snow and ice tires for my move to Squamish. Traveling the Sea to Sky road over and along mountain roads can be dangerous in rain and ice and snow. The Ice and snow Michelin tires stabilizes my Toyota Prius C. It was a surprise feeling of gripping the road like my all season tires by another maker never did. I feel much safer witth these tires.

Makes Snow Driving Fun!

Handles snow and slush with incredible ease. I traveled on some nasty roads here in Michigan recently and never worried for my safety or had issues with traction. It was actually kind of fun… Tires are pretty quiet too even on dry roads, which is a nice bonus. However, ice is still ice and there is only so much a tire can do. They certainly have more traction on ice than all-seasons, but the difference isn’t as noticeable.

Terrible! Replaced them after a week!

I am a long-term Michelin fan. When I buy tires for my cars, I always buy Michelin. I had to replace the Michelin X-Ice 3 winter tires on my 2016 Mercedes E400 wagon. (I love the X-Ice 3 and their predecessors -- ran them on all of our cars in winter.) Chose the X-Ice Snow as the replacements because they are the natural successor to X-Ice 3. Big mistake! The X-Ice Snow were unstable at speeds over 70 km/h -- even the smallest movement in the steering wheel resulted in a fear-inducing wobble. It was like the car was rolling its ankle. No confidence. We use this car to drive to Lake Louise to ski every weekend -- about 400 km return. After one trip, I had it. I had the X-Ice Snow removed and replaced with Michelin Pilot Alpin. After that, no issues. AVOID THE X-ICE SNOW.

Don’t get X-Ice winters if you’re a performance car enthusiast

After having owned several generations of the Pilot Sport Alpin, my tire dealer only had the X-Ice Snows available this time. They’re great in the snow and wet, but REALLY annoying in dry handling, in that they make a lot of noise above maybe 0.3g. The Alpins NEVER exhibited this characteristic….

Surprisingly effective.

This is my second set of X-Ice tires and I’ll likely purchase a third. I’m used to aggressive looking winter tires, the more tread and metal studs the better. The X-Ice is more science than style; more performance than fashion statement. All that said, the sales incentives certainly help . . .
