Transformed my FWD Lexus into a different beast!

I don't normally write reviews but I just had to for these tires. They have brought and my family home same time and time again. I actually bought these tires used off Facebook marketplace (decent bit of tread over the winter wear tread marker) for my 2003 Lexus ES300 with fair expectations. But I can wholeheartedly say these tires definitely SURPASSED my expectations. They transformed my FWD sedan into a winter beast. Slush, deep snow, even some ice you name it. I've driven in all winter conditions and haven't experienced anything under stellar traction. These tires have given me the confidence to venture out in my vehicle in the snow. I no longer feel the need to stay home when it's bad out or take my AWD SUV. These tires have been a game changer and life saver. If you think you need AWD, think again - you just need the right tire. Michelin X Ice. Michelin has me as a customer for life. I will definitely purchase them again, new. Almost 30cm+ in as of now in the snowstorm of January 25 2026 and I was able to get out of and into my driveway on a slope with minimal effort. Buy these and don't twice !

Phenomenal snow tires

I bought these snow tires and put them on my RWD Camaro, and despite being a Camaro in the snow, thanks to these tires, it was better than most of my friends' AWD cars. Highly recommended.

Great in Ice & Light snow

Great tires for ice and light snow. I've had these on 3 vehicles now, and they are the best tires ever on ice and light snow. Good in deeper snow and dry/wet roads. Durability is good for this type of tire. One oddity - they do require more break-in than most tires. When you initially have them mounted they make your handling feel vague and odd, give them 100-200 miles and it will be back to normal.

Good tires

I purchased 4 X-ICE SNOW tires for our Volvo XC 60 We are very pleased with their performance. They are quiet, responsive and provide confident handling in snow and frozen road conditions. All as promised Our summer tires are Primacy, also, excellent Sizes are 235 / 60 / R18

Great for confident winter driving

I am so thrilled with these tires. I live in and commute in rural New Hampshire and Vermont, and I have felt very confident when driving in this winter’s messy ice and snow. I can easily get out of snow, and I haven’t struggled with maintaining traction on any roads, whether they were highway, state roads, or unpaved back roads. The ride is also very smooth.

Great tires.

I put these on a 2014 Honda Pilot. I planned on taking them off the next summer. But I ended up leaving them on. I was a little worried that they would wear out quickly but 4 years later and 49600 miles they still are pretty good, not down to the wear bars yet. We live in ND, in the country with gravel roads. I just ordered another set to be put on this Saturday. I am very impressed!

Still a great choice - the Michelin Ice-X

I have the latest Michelin IceX and if anything, traction and grip seem not as good as previous versions of this tire. I drive an Audi All Road and am surprised, this winter, when I go around a corner at a reasonable speed and experience some fish tailing. Still I love that the tire is the quietest snow tire, and when starting from a standing stop I can always move forward.

Tire Performance Report — Real-World Observations Dry Road Performance: The tires perform well on dry roads, maintaining stability and predictable handling. They demonstrate excellent grip and directional control in both cold and mild temperatures. Wet Road Performance: On wet surfaces, the tires are unsatisfactory. There is noticeable lateral slippage, frequent activation of the vehicle's stability control system, and compromised grip, leading to reduced confidence during driving. Snow and Winter Conditions: In winter conditions, particularly on snow, the tires exhibit significant instability. During lane transitions, the rear axle tends to slide, causing repeated stability system interventions. The vehicle feels unsettled, and the tires fail to maintain a consistent trajectory. These tires are not recommended for use as winter tires in snowy conditions. Cornering and Handling: During turns, the tires provide poor lateral support. Both axles experience slippage, reducing the ability to maintain proper control. This effect is especially pronounced when moving from one rut to another. Inclines and Sloped Roads: On inclined or sloped surfaces at speeds as low as 20 km/h, the vehicle tends to drift off the road without corrective input, demonstrating a critical lack of directional stability. Overall Safety Assessment: Based on real-world driving experience, these tires are highly unsafe in wet, snowy, and sloped conditions. They may only be suitable for use in autumn and spring, on well-maintained roads. Extreme caution is recommended when operating under adverse conditions. These tires are not recommended. They are unsafe on the road, particularly in wet, snowy, or icy conditions. Seek alternative options for winter driving.

Not Impressed

This is my second set of X-ice tires for my F-150. I actually liked the performance of the first set, so I decided to get the latest version. I have to say I couldn't be less impressed by these tires. The overall traction, performance and durability of these tires is very poor. I have plenty of weight in the box to help with traction yet the truck wheels just spin in the slightest bit of snow and ice. Even though it's constantly in 4 x 4. I don't recommend this version of X-ice.
