Don’t waste your $$ on Michelin Latitude tires

My Ford Explorer XLT came equipped with the Michelin Latitude HP tires. At 42,140km I had to replace the tires and they were mostly highway driven! Sad part 8/32 tread left on tires. On extended Ford warranty so just over the 3 yr/60,000km warranty on new vehicle. Don’t waste your money on these tires. My Ford Explorer XLT la in past (5 of them) all had BFGoodrich tires and never a flat tire, low tire in 22yrs This last Explorer XLT nothing but flat tires!

Another Great Product

Excellent choice!!! - I have purchased Michelin tires for every vehicle I own, and Michelin in fact is brand I choose whenever I purchase a new vehicle or need replacement tires. I really cannot say enough positive things about my experience with the Michelin brand - I tried other major brands in the past, but just have never gotten the quality and service out of them like I do with Michelin.

Great quiet performance

I've put about 5000 miles on these tires. I'm very impressed with the performance and how quiet it is inside my truck. I'm saving about 3 mpg with these tires also. They've been a great investment. I told my neighbor about the tires, and she purchased a set of these for her vehicle too.

Tires do not hold up for the price

I bought a 2010 Honda Crosstour with the Lattitude Tout HP 225/60/R18 tires and have had my vehicle per maintenece schedules. The car has 27312 mile on it and I brought the car in because I had a thumping noise and vibrating steering wheel due to the tires. The dealership suggested to get 4 new tires due to the fact that they said the tires were wearing out. How can a tire that has a 55,000 mile warranty on it wear at 27,000+ miles? I am very disappointed with these tires for the price they are asking me to pay for 4 more

Never Go Down to Wear Bar

But the 55,000 mileage promise is way off of the 25,000 mile average life for my 2006 Porsche Cayenne S Titanium I,m about to put my 5th set of Latitudes as the car turns 155,000 miles. My driving is unremarkable in terrain and speed and cornering. Maybe Michelin owes me this set.

Good tire; No replacements available

The tires performed well for a SUV tire but wore rather quickly. By 25000 miles the tires began to deteriorate with chunks of material separating on the treads A 40% credit was offered but the tires have been out of production now for over two months and the dealer has yet to obtain a definite date for replacement. The inability to obtain timely replacements is my only concern for recommendation.

Incredible Tire

I replace every 2 years leading into the winter months on the end of the 2nd year because i average 37000 miles a year. These tires replaced pirelli cross contacts that I thought were good until I tried these. Wow incredible high speed traction in wet conditions. The pirellis would hydro plane early into the second year over 60 MPH. These are still confidence inpiring into the end of their life. When they were new you could confidently smoke past tractor trailers in very wet low vis situations at speeds around 75-80 MPH. It was night and day difference. Also dry conditions are smooth quiet and just an all around joy compared to the stockers and the pirellis. Im not sure if I want to try the cross climates or "stick" with these. Very satisfied.

I just recently checked ...

I just recently checked the air pressure and found all four tires were 10 pounds low which I believe was causing a noticeable humming noise when running between 60-70 mph. Other than that, I am still pleased with my purchase. The tires are comfortable to ride on and provide great traction.

Good performing tire but poor tread life.

These were the OEM tires on our Nissan Armada. They were very comfortable and quiet and performed well in the rain. I feel that the tires performed well in every aspect except tread life. My wife is a very conservative driver and the tires were rotated every 7500 miles. We are now getting close to 40,000 miles and all 4 tires have under 2/32" tread remaining. Researching these tires I found that tread life was a common problem on larger heavy vehicles. Read reviews on the web and you'll see that they work well on crossovers but wear quickly on trucks and full size SUV's. Do yourself a favor and stick with the Defender LTX or other brands.

Latitude Tour HP

I've got my SUV from Japan with the Toyo tires. Excellent grip, a bit noisy and lasted 3 years. Replaced them with Michelin. Excellent grip, much lower noise and lasted 7 years. Now I have both all-season and winter tires from Michelin. And forget to check the tires pressure for months. When change from all-season to winter and back, the pressure is still nominal.
