Product Failure

I have been using these products for family picture frames for about 4 months. They are beginning to fail at about 2 to 3 months. The larger frames have been the first to fail, and break on the floor on impact. None of these frames are over 1 pound...using multiple strips rated for 2.5 pounds or heavier (whatever in store). The smaller 4x6 frames remain attached. I have identified two failure points. First, the strips coming off the walls. Not an issue for smallest frames, yet. Standard latex walls cleaned before application. Second, detachment from the frames itself, the adhesive side on the frame. I have even used gorilla glue two-sided heavy duty tape on the frame, and then the Command strip on that tape. That just failed too after 2 months. It peeled off the gorilla tape which remains on the frame. What I am unable to address if this may be a batch issue. I purchased several packages over a period from different stores. Otherwise I would have provided for help on root cause. I had hoped to avoid nails in the walls, but there doesn't seem to be an alternative as this product is showing unreliability. For weightless plastic applications, it works. I have used other command products for years, which have mostly worked. For more practical uses on pricier objects, I would take caution and consider standard hooks.

Perfect for my frame

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product free from 3M. I used these strips for a 2 lbs. wooden frame. It's been about a week and so far the frame has hold on. The strips were easy to apply; very happy with the product.

dart board

The picture above isn't what I bought. I bought "6 hooks, 12 medium strips" and that option wasn't on the list. Oh well. The strips were strong enough to hold a fairly heavy dart board. We have plaster walls and didn't want to put holes in the walls.

Paintings

I have mounted a few paintings and had wall decor to hang. The only issue was that the frames did not have metal wrungs to hook the wall. These strips solved that issue and are well concealed. It gives the illusion that my frames are just placed on the wall without any additional tools.

Hanging A Picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There cant be an easier way to hang a picture than the command picture hanging strips. They work great and hold very well. I would not use any thing else any more since I have been using the Command Strips. They are great.

GREAT Product

I hate trying to get the nail in the right spot so the picture hangs straight and is where I want it to be. I'm always off just a little. But no more! I hung a box of photos that have been waiting in the closet for years all in less than an hour. Now I have pictures all down my hall and I never would have gotten it done without these!

Not Reusable

I had used this product to hang a large collection of pictures and canvas but then had to move, and instead of being able to just purchase replaceable stickers betweeen Velcro and wall, I have to buy a whole pack again. This makes them not reusable and just once only, then we throw the whole lot out and have to start again. I wish we could buy packs of just the sticky components of these and then I could give 5 stars.

No good

I purchased the 3lb picture hanging strips to hang a few small items in my kitchen that weighed maybe 1.5lb. I hung these in the evening and by morning all 4 of the hangings had fallen down and one was broken. I am very disappointed in this product and the money I spent. Back to using the nails, which id prefer at this point so no more of my items get broken.

Ruined My Wall!

I just used the medium strips that are supposed to hold 12 pounds for a picture that easily weighs less than 5 pounds. It not only fell off my wall, it ripped the paint and a layer of my wall off my wall! This is not the first time I have used and had issues with these strips. They have come off before when I've used strips that were supposedly supposed to hold more weight than what I've tried putting up. I will not be using these anymore. Never again.

Frames on Wall

I lived in an apartment where I wasn't allowed to paint the walls and I didn't want tons of nail holes in them. I had seen a great commercial for a beautiful frame and paint idea to spruce up your wall, but knew I couldn't do it. Later that week I found the Command strips while shopping and determined they would be perfect for the job. Rather than painting the wall, I used 2.5" wide ribbon to make the color bands through the center of each row of frames, then I used a medium picture hanging strip on the top right and left of each frame and adhered three of them to the wall spaced visually pleasing vertically, and repeated the process horizontally, creating a matrix of a three x three wall space of black frames with a pop of color with red ribbon behind it. To top it off, I used black and white photos. The Command Strips worked like a dream. My apartment manager began to get mad when she saw what I did, but I surprised her to show her that the frames came off easily and that I hadn't used paint at all. The best thing? When I moved, it took me less than 10 minutes to remove the frames and ribbon and I didn't have any holes to fill!
