Looks solid

This is for the GP7500E. I can't do an operation review because I just finished setting the unit up and have not used it yet. It was purchased as a backup electrical source for our home. Setup was easier than reviews led me to believe, specifically putting oil in it. You do need a funnel to add oil, and I did use a funnel and hose that I already have, but a funnel with a long neck would work fine. The first unit I brought home was replaced by Tractor Supply after purchase because the spark plug boot was broken. TS was going to replace the unit with another unit in stock but the other unit also had a broken boot. They replaced it with a unit from a different store. Might be a coincidence. I opened the box and checked the boot before I brought this one home. I'm sixty years young but didn't have a problem putting it together, although it is heavy. The only piece missing was one of the little bolts that hold the battery terminals on. The unit looks good, though. I have intentions to fire that puppy up and put a load on it to make sure it puts power out. I don't know if I'll be allowed to do a second review after using it, but that's the plan.

Excellent purchase

After 3 years of ownership with w1 hr/year running, had to run generator for 4 days continuously with time-outs for refueling and oil-checking. Clean gas, fresh oil 2 days prior to weather event and when needed, the generator started immediately, took the load with no surging. Minor light flickering of LED lights when dimmed, but voltage was spot-on and consistent. Heavy motor starting loads did not change generator output or tone and fuel useage to run 4 bedroom house with well, furnace, lighting, entertainment, refrigerator, dish-washer and on occasion electric oven was about 5 gallons per 24 hour day. Generator is well designed and apparently bullet proof.

Won't start in very cold weather

I keep my RS8000E in a small garden shed. I run it once a month for 30 minutes. Dec. 2022 was very cold around Christmas. I went out to start the generator just is case we lost power and it wouldn't start. It would turn over, but wouldn't start. I had to wheel it into my work shed and thaw it out, before it would start. I only use premium gas with NO ethanol. I have since put in fuel deicer. I tried it again 2 days later at -10 degrees and same thing, it would not start. I put a little electric heater in my garden shed and after 30 minutes I tried it and it started. 2 days later I tried it again at zero degrees. It took alot of cranking but finally started. The RS in the model name stands for Rapid Start. IMHO not so much.

Have not needed it yet

I received this item early last spring. I got it to be used in case of an extended power outage which is very rare for my service area. But since I have a grinder pump for my septic, I could have water from the local tower but wouldn't be able to flush without electricity. The unit was packaged and shipped very well. I finally unpacked and assembled it in late July. The assembly was very easy and the unit started on the second pull. I ran it for about a half hour but have not had to use it since. I did install an outside receptacle that I have wired into my main panel. So I'm ready. It is hard to give a review of something that you haven't had to use, but based on my observations as a mechanical design engineer, and from the Generac reputation, I have much confidence. When and if I actually use this generator, I update this review.

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We trust the Generac name. It was easy to assemble out of the box. Portability is great as it comes with never flat wheels. Fired right up and I am impressed with the quietness of the unit. I was expecting it to be much louder. Have only ran it a handful of times, but I have not came across any issues. We live in Tornado Alley and this will be a blessing during storms, however this is also great for job sites.

Solid & Effective

A portable, reliable, economical, means of standby power. It is a bit louder than I like but wear earplugs if you are bothered by the noise level. This machine is used for jobsite applications such as a vacuum, portable halogen lighting and misc. charging. Follow the wattage charts for appliance applications to ensure you have the right size generator to handle the load required. Do not overload any machine even a Generac.

Great product

We used this generator less than 50- hours. When we needed it again summer of 2020 we discovered the generator burned!!! Very DISAPPOINTED We had to use an older 10- year old Briggs and Stratton that started up right away. We are currently waiting on new generator to be ordered and delivered , due to Covid reasons it's taken this long. We pray once a new generator is installed it will work great for us for years to come.

Excellent Genset

This particular model has enough available power to run an average 3 bed room house including the furnace and refrigerator. To ensure a no overload condition have refrigerator turned off until furnace or ac kicks in then turn on. Easy to maintain and easy starting.

Good value

Bought for emergency use only, to power a sump pump and maybe a gas fired heating system in winter. Used only once so far, to help a friend during power outage. It started up easily. They were able to run their heating system (hot air), which was nice because temp was down to freezing at night. Since then I tested it one other time during mid-winter, to make sure it would work in cold weather, and it started up no problem. This unit has one duplex outlet with 15 amp breaker. Only enough power for essentials, but that's all I wanted. It is relative small, and one able bodied person can move it if required.

Great product easy set up and start

I love everthing about the 7500E. Elec start a must have for the wife. Did a lot of research and Generac was always at the top of the list. Runs great in all weather conditions. The only thing that would be great is if it came with a Generac 6112 - 30-Amp (4-Prong) Convenience Cord w/ 4-20 Amp Outlets.
