Lets see how this is handled...

Bottom of box and pallet was taped to pallet. I signed off, delivery driver drove off. 3 hours later, at 6:30 pm I took off the tape to see that somewhere in the process the tape was used to cover up a number of big holes and the powder coated frame was scraped up in 5 places. The battery tray flange was bent. Forklift damage I assume. I'm asking retailer to contact Generac and get me touch up paint to avoid rust... and a return.... I'm in the process of breaking it in. Lets see how Generac handles this, and I'll report back. Somebody tried to cover up a mistake, and it does not reflect well on the brand.

Good value for a high quality product

This unit has everything I need for home backup. It's a heavy machine but the pivot handle makes it easy to move around. I also like the never flat wheels. The only drawback is the lack of clear instructions for changing oil and draining fuel. The instructions are vague for a novice like me. I need more detail and better drawings. Well worth the price I paid for home backup.

Works well. Very reliable. A bit on the noisy side.

I have to admit I bought this generator because it was the only one in stock at the only store in the area that had any generators after Hurricane Sandy. Fortunately, it has turned out to be an excellent choice. It always starts on the first pull and doesn't require a lot of effort to pull the cord. Adding fuel and changing the oil is easy. The four GFI ports are plenty to power the items in my home that need power during an outage (boiler, refrigerator, computers and Internet router, along with some lights and a 46" TV). My next step is to have an electrician install a switch for the generator on my circuit breaker panel so I don't have to run extension cords all over the house. My only complaint (if you could call it that) is the fact that the generator is rather loud. But I don't believe it's any louder than other generators in the same class.

Starts first pull , second pull if you don't turn switch on!

Very nice and only $750.00 easy to put wheels and handle on about 20 minutes with opening box and ready to run , nice you included a funnel that works for eng. oil. Only ran to test.no vibrations and quieter than old Coleman pro 5000 and good voltage.

Excellent generator

I use this generator five days a week, all day long. It is a work horse. My only complaint is that the electric start is not dependable. Since the generator starts so well with the pull starter this is not a deal breaker. It is of interest that I've had a few Generac 8,000 watt electric start generators and they all have electric starters that are flaky. Since they pull start so well I live with it.

Lots of Power for a Compact Unit

I bought this unit to replace a larger generator two years ago. It went through on hurricane like a champ. One half of my home was easily powered (which was more than enough, 1 AC 3 yard pumps, misc. 20 A breakers). The unit stores easily when not in use and is easy to move to hook up the transfer switch. I recently had a bad battery and the folks at Generac are replacing it. What a pleasant surprise and a guarantee that I will buy another Generac when the time comes.

Great Product

Bought this generator because of power outage. This is my 2nd GP 6500. Easy assembly except the store did not include the wheels. Started on very 1st pull and ran flawlessly. Noise level is acceptable. I cannot say enough about this generator. It easily handles my whole house. I had many neighbors come over asking about it and I'm sure that some of them are going to or did buy an identical. unit. It is nice to get your moneys worth.

We'll be ready next time!

We have lived in PA for year and half and have lost power twice for a week each time. We have done our research, and we are so pleased with the GENERAC 7500. Delivery was quick and easy, putting it together out of the box was quick and easy. Our electrician is installing an interlock into the circuit breaker box, so we will be trained and ready for the next "this never happens" storm that knocks out power. We are on a well, and have a sump pump. Having this generator gives us such relief in knowing we can still operate most of our home off the grid temporarily. Also, how cool that if we need to take it on a camping trip, we can load it into the truck and go! Awesome idea!

Fulfilled all expectations, reliable and convenient.

We live in an area that seems to lose power frequently. The convenience of the battery start was a very compelling feature (it replaced a pull start - I'm 77 and it started to be a challenge) It was such a great experience, I purchased one for my grandson in New Hampshire. Strongly suggest installing an input receptacle connected to your home distribution panel.
