i went to specifically buy this generator after much research....I wanted electric start and a quieter portable...I got it on sale which was a real surprise....Put the oil and gas in , attached battery cables and it fired right up instantly.....Way quieter than my neighbours generator of another make ....Works great ...very happy

I said then that I would not want to go through that experience again without a generator. I was worried that we would lose all of our food in our refrigerators as well as our freezers and that would be devastating for us. For years I have heard that people had problems with carbon monoxide issues with generators so I was so happy that this one is equipped with CO Sense. I feel safer using this with my family. This generator has an electric start so it is even easy for me to start. I am thankful that I do not have to worry anymore about what we would do without power. In the long run this will save us a lot of patience and money since we will be able to run our refrigerators and freezers.

After going few days without power we decided to start shopping for a generator. I looked at many different types, makes and models. Generac stood out in the reviews I read in terms of function and reliability. I found the information available on the Generac website helpful in determining what type and size generator to purchase. Should I need service there are many authorized service representatives in my area. This too has been a discriminator in choosing Generac over some of the other brands. Assembly instructions were clear and the quick start instructions are an excellent idea. It took no time at all to assemble and start the generator. I choose to buy a portable rather than stand-by so that I can have power to do remote construction projects. I'm happy with my choice so far. I'll follow up later after I've had an opportunity to exercise the unit.

I had this delivered to the house. The packaging was very good. No damage. I did all the assembly within a half hour. Filled it with oil and put some gas into the tank. I used the electric start and it started up with no problems. Temp outside was less than 5 F. I bought the electric start only for my wife so she could start it up if I wasn't home. The manual provides all information needed to star and maintain the unit.

Shopped around for other makes and always came back to the Generac reviews. Price is good. The company I bought it from Assembled it for me at no extra cost.I put in the oil and gas and started on the first pull. Tried all Receptacles on the generator. All worked. Bought it as a stand by in case we lose power.Good product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a few weeks ago and was very excited to try it out and see its capabilities. Upon first thorough inspection while guided by the Manual I discovered the clutch lever was missing. The clutch is fully functional; it was just missing the piece to easily start it. All other parts were accounted for and appeared to be in good shape and order. I read through the very easy to understand but thorough instruction manual before starting it. I brought it to my family's winery to test on machinery and coolers and the business as a whole. Upon first attempt to start it the pull cord got stuck and hung outside of the spool it was supposed to return inside of. I removed the housing to fix it and discovered the housing was dented. I smoothed our those dents and replaced the cord and spool and housing as it was. I then started it effectively and started to hook up the winery's necessary appliances and machinery. The entire winery successfully ran off of the generator for an entire hour before we shut it off. I love the functionality of this generator and I'm so satisfied owning it because we get quite a few storms that shut power off at my home. It has carbon monoxide detection systems running automatically that shut the generator off if levels become unsafe or rapidly increase which is literally a life saver! It can run for up to 11 hours on a 50% power load which is plenty for my house! I definitely recommend this Generac Generator to anyone that needs an extr source of power that is reliable! If it hadn't been for the minor mishaps in the beginning I'd have given this A 100% positive review!

I bought it for emergency power for when our tree lined street takes out the power lines. I've only run it for a few minutes so far, to test the breaker box connection. It ran the well pump, furnace, and a few lights without issue. There will be enough power in reserve to keep us comfortable if we have another snow disaster this winter.

Great bang for your buck! Typically starts on first easy pull, runs smoothly, and produces enough back-up power to run my whole house ALMOST normally! Would have been 5 stars EXCEPT for the sensitivity of the COsense system. Placed outdoors parallel to the building at a distance of 6 feet, the unit runs for 5-7 minutes and then COsense shuts it down! Need to place the unit exhaust away, perpendicular to the building and at 9 feet away! Also, the assembly instructions, while straightforward, lack detail. Three holes for handle mounting but no specification while one gets the bolts and what are the four plastic washers for? NO mention of them at ALL!

very easy to set up and started right up. only problem I found was trying to find out how much oil the motor holds. did not find it in the manual. put oil in and kept checking dipstick until it was full. that was the only flaw I can find with it.noise level is a lot less than the generator it is replacing. if you need a big generator I would recommend this one.

I spent the extra couple of bucks to get the electric start model for my wife. I'm in law enforcement and if I'm ever stuck at work during an emergency, I want it to be easy for her to set up and get things going. Right out of the box, set up was easy. Followed the directions and fired it up with the electric start. I let it run for a bit and it didn't seem any louder than any other generator that I've been around. Very happy with it.
