As I have not needed to use it yet , all I can say is it was easy to assemble and started up with the first pull . Love the big gas tank and the wattage will be sufficient to cover most everything needed in an outage . Will be installing an interlock kit . Will have running water but probably no hot water , washer , dryer or stove to cook on .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the Generac 3600 Portable Generator. Easy to start, very good product, very easy to move. Runs quietly compared to other generators. Like the feature that lets you know when its time to change oil and air filter.

Set up is easy except for the battery connections. Took almost an hour to get them connected. Had to bend the positive lead tab inorder to connect it to the terminal. I think this could be easily fixed by rotating the battery 180 degrees and changing the length of the battery cables. The battery clamps would have to be also changed. Would be a bear for one person to assemble. Fortunitely i have a hoist in my garage. Started within 3 seconds. Would be very nice to have a volt and amp meter.

I had a coleman powermate 6250w ran great. I hope this generator does as good or better than the coleman. The Generac is more powerful and more quite. The design is better and came with wheel ,handle kit, electric start, oil, 20A cord, and funnel. I'm impressed with the ease of functioning especially starting. The pull start is easy enough my wife started it only using one hand. The electric start works great as well the with just a push of button. I plan to use this generator to power my home in power outage. The coleman could not handle but small amount and wouldn't satisfy my wife. She wants hot bath and we have electric water heater and wants to cook on electric stove plus watch TV. I done lots of research and couldn't find another generator like generac. The new appliances are sensitive to THD level and generac is less than five percent. Generac noise level is low also has three year residential warranty. Where live in a rural area we have power outages a lot all times of the year. Winter time we have been without electric for two weeks solid snow and ice storm and bitter cold

Being a new home owner I always thought about power going out. Well power went out! Went to local hardware store many different options I've heard from other people generac was top of the line a little pricey but well worth it. Will recommend to anyone I know

This unit has everything I need to power my house. The voltage and frequency is very, very stable and I have in house meters checking it. It runs my oil burner perfectly. The unit starts on the first 1/2 rotation each time. I have most of my home on this generator, except for central air conditioning, which, if I turned some other stuff off, would probably work. I highly recommend this product.

This generator has it all. Electric start, hour meter, circuit breaker switch. So I was a bit surprised it did not have automatic idle. I might be wrong but it seems to run full blast 24/7. If I am mistaken please let me know. Apart from that feature, the generator runs fantastic. A bit loud but I can live with that. For thhe power rating I'm happy.

170 hours on generator -two months old Stopped producing power. Not happy. Power would come back when I jumped the field with a drill - spinning it backwards. Brought to a dealer rep - we will see what they find. Hoping it will be under warranty without a battle. Walpole,MA

I purchased this Generac during the aftermath of Hurricane Laura. Pro's: Very little assembly was needed before it was ready for service. Excellent quality of construction. Has a good set of features to make it easy to use and keep it in service as long as it is required. (Fuel gauge, hour meter, and quite a decent sized fuel tank) Con's: Pull start only. (Not necessarily a "negative" as there's no starter system/circuit to worry about going out, and no battery to maintain in the off season) The engine can be a little noisy, but with proper/common sense placement of the unit this can be mitigated. The COSense system can trip itself if you place the unit's exhaust near a wall or if the unit is in the corner of a building where the breeze could keep the exhaust from drifting away. (In other words, it's quite sensitive ... so keep that in mind with placement). Overall: It's not the cheapest generator, but in this case... you honestly get what you've paid for. If I could go back in time and have the choice of buying it again, I absolutely would. So far, I'm 100% satisfied after the very easy initial setup and figuring out the best way to place the unit to keep it in service. The unit does what it's supposed to, and has been worth every single red cent since it's purchase. Keep up the good work Generac, and please ... whatever you do, don't stoop to cutting corners like some of the other manufacturer's whose generators I've used before have in recent times. I am very impressed with my model of Generac. I purchased this model after seeing my neighbors in use and I was impressed. Used for home backup and miscellaneous jobs. The electric start makes simple for my family to get running with no assistance if I am away from home. Very easy to set up and use. Good design for storage.
