Won't start.

I bought it at Sam's Club (06 JUN 22) and assembled it per the instructions. I fired it up once and it ran for a few minutes. When I shut it down and attempted to restart it, it wouldn't fire. It just makes backfiring noises. It still doesn't start or run. Needless to say, I am not pleased! Your phone rep was supposed to forward me a list of authorized repair shops, but I have yet to receive it. I want my generator to run in event of a power loss. Please help me to reconcile this situation.

Seems quite good at this point.

Have only run a few tests in the first 3 days of owning. Time will tell as to reliability and durability. Price reasonable. Noise level is pretty high but placement is critical. and in our case not a significant issue. Looked at others, but this seemed to exhibit best combination of size, price, reputation, and warranty. So far so good.

Unbelievable performance and reliability!

I've owned this generator since April 2013 and have used it to its limits with zero issues and 100% satisfaction on my part. We started construction on a new home 2 months (June 2013) after our purchase and due to our utility company's inability to bring power to our rural location until August, we were forced to use the GP17500E to supply power to all of our contractors. We put 200 plus hours on this baby throughout the concrete, framing, electrical and plumbing rough in, and getting about half the shingles installed. Big cost on Gasoline, but kept us on schedule and everyone working. It now serves as a whole home emergency backup power supply for virtually every circuit in my home through the 6380 Manual Transfer Switch. 2000 square foot home with a geothermal heat pump and 4 ton A/C, all lights, power outlets, appliances, hot water, entertainment system, computer. It's easy to operate and switch between Utility power and Generac. We are conservative on power usage during outages, but incredibly comfortable during our Kansas winters and summers!!! I will never be without one of these generators on hand and wouldn't even consider another brand.

Worth every penny

Our family bought 1 of these (as well as a few of other sizes) for back-up power after "Snowtober 2011" left us in the dark for 6 days. Our home has 2 heat pumps w/aux heat, and electric hot water. I wanted a unit that would be able to keep us warm, and this fit the bill. This is a BIG unit, upon delivery, 2 people are needed to assemble. We connected to the whole house through an interlock kit in the main panel and monitored load, we just used it for the first time after Sandy roared through- we ran our critical circuits as well as the hot water heater, TV/DVD, lighting and the stove. We ran each heat pump independantly due to load (10000 watt aux)The unit perforfmed flawlessly except for a resonating heat shield I had to creatively rectify. We put 95 hours on during a 5 day blackout. The sound level is tolerable for overnight use, overall very pleased with the quality, performance, ease of use (love the electric start!) and that they are Made in USA. We are electricians so we did all the work ourselves,

Easy & Reliable Operation

Assembling the product was easy and took about 45 minutes. I found the generator to start easily and it took no time for it to provide power to my home during a power outage. My 15,000 watt generator provides me and my family the safety and comfort we were looking for in the event of an emergency. This is the second Generac I have owned, my first one was a 1987 model 5,000 watt which I sold to purchase my new model. I highly recommend purchasing one.

Awsome power and reliability!

Great portable unit! I bought it after hurricane Irene to run a Franklin Electric 3 HP well pump. I was without power for 6 days during the freak October snow storm here in the north east. It ran my well, heat (circulated hot water) and two fridges; I was also able to cook and do laundry (not all at once)! Survived the 6 day outage with little worry or pain. My only warning is that this unit is heavy (to be expected) and uses a LOT of gasoline so lots of trips to the gas station. I'm currently looking into a Guardian Series 20KW natural gas model with a permenant hookup. They make a great product!

Solid performer after fixing battery issue.

Solid performer after fixing battery issue. The battery died after 6 months and would not hold a charge. After installing a new battery and a disconnect so the battery no longer had a drain on it, I also installed a motorcycle style trickle charger. It now works perfectly and the battery holds a charge. I keep the battery disconnected until it's time to use it. It is now a perfect generator after the $50 upgrade. Too bad Generac did make the improvements in the factory because it does take a certain amount of expertise and engineering to correct the problem but is doable if you have the right tools. I will attach some photos at a later date.

Overall Good Generator for the Price

I purchaed the 7500E about 9 Months ago, overall the Generator has been great and very reliable. I only had two issues, the first issue happened 20 hours after initial startup. When the engine wouldn't start due to a valve problem. (Repaired under warranty). The second problem was a build up of Carbon which prevented the engine from rotating. The second problem occured after 959 hours and was not covered under warranty. It cost be a little over $110.00 to repair. Other then those two issues the Generator has been great.

Wheels/Axel Need Work

I bought this generator through home depot very easy purchase and delivery. The only suggestion I could make to Generac is that I would make a larger axel and increase the wheel size and replace with pneumatic tires. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. you can purchase pneumatic tires through a local shop and change them out! i just think Generac should just have it come standard.

I bought my unit based on its dual fuel capabilities however starting it in LP mode is a bit of a challenge.
