Awesome tires.

Don't let the “all season” fool you. They definitely deserve to have the M/S on the side wall. I would even argue the 3PMSF. They are super grippy in the snow and cold. Seemed to be quiet and comfortable. They have been out in plus degree weather and -20 and handled with ease. Tread life is amazing as well. They look sleek and the design is smooth. Highly recommend these tires. You do really get what you paid for.

Great Tires!

Bought in the winter in Canada. Handled the snow and ice with ease. Little bit of slipping here and there but acted like a regular winter tire. I was really impressed. Very quiet and responsive. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend. They look sharpe as well and the side wall always stays black.

Great tire but harder compound and don't grip as well in the rain as the previous model

I have the F rated 35x12.5R22 tires on my 21 Ram 1500. These tires are great, but in hindsight I would have bought the metric equivalent in the E rating. These tires are heavy and stiff, and not as good as the Michelin tires I had on my last Tam. They weren't the 2 series.

Great Tires

The Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 has very good grip cornering and is very quiet for a tire that has an aggressive tread design. I have only owned the tires for 4 hours but I have already put the tires on several tests, including cornering and stopping. I am very satisfied with these tires, as I have been with other Michelin tires purchased over the past 20 or so years.

Not smooth, not quiet, but very capable

This is a nice truck tire, but it is a truck tire. I can feel every bump and seam on the highway. It's noisy and unrefined, so I suppose this is a truck tire. I puchased a set for a 2018 Lincoln Navigator and the tires removed the luxury aspect of the vehicle. Thanks to Michelin's ride satisfaction promise, I was able to exchange the Defender LTX M/S2 for a set of CrossClimate2 SUV tires. The ride quality and noise is like night and day. Moving from a Highway All-Season (LTX) to a Grand Touring AS (CrossClimate) was the answer. I would not buy the LTX again for a luxury vehicle.

Great tires but could use improvement in this regard.

I just ordered a set of 275-55-R20 Defender LTX M/S2's to replace my older LTX2's and found that they still use a bar code sticker molded into the bead. On my old set of M/S2's this sticker caused a severe leak on three of my four wheels. This sticker caused moisture to collect between the rim and sticker and eventually corroded the aluminum rim. I had to dismount all four tires, remove the corrosion from the rim and remount with bead sealer after removing the sticker and re balance. Fortunately I was able to do all this myself as I have a friend that has the proper equipment to do it. Otherwise I would have to pay for it. Why put this sticker in this location???

15 Years & Will Never Buy Any Other Tire Type

The Defender LTX M/S2 tire has gotten me across the country, literally. It flawlessly handles snow, rain, mud, sand, gravel, asphalt, and everything in between, without compromising the quality and comfort of the ride. The noise is nonexistent in the cab of the SUV, even at high speeds.

Smooth, sometimes slippery, loves sticking to rocks

I just bought my second set of these. Pros: Smooth, quiet ride, tread wear was even but not premature Cons: From a stop to start acceleration on wet roads sometimes the rear tires spin, gravel trapping by the tires is annoying upon driving at higher speeds on highways and hearing rocks pelt the wheel wells.

Great Tire

I bought my 2nd set of Michelin Defenders after going 86,676mi on the first set. I never bought Michelin tires until I bought my first set of Defenders. I probably could have driven another 5k-7kmi but I noticed that traction wasn't that good in the rain with 86k plus miles. Very impressed with these tires quietness, longevity, and performance. When it's time to ditch the 2nd set of Defenders, I will definitely be buying a 3rd time.

Liked original better

I've run through two sets of the original Defender LTX M/S, and they were nice and smooth. No problems. Now that they're discontinued, went with the M/S2. Two had to be replaced for high road force. They do NOT ride as smooth as the originals. Bounce and shudder. Very disappointed.
