Tires won't balance

Purchased (5) 35x12.50r17 KO2s and immediately had a vibration at speed. 600 miles and 4 balance jobs later, the tires will not properly balance. Tires have been broken and spun on wheels to no avail. Severely disappointed at this point, these tires are pricey. I didn't read review beforehand, as BFG has a great reputation and I've been through 3 sets of the original KOs, however, it appears I'm one of many people to have this problem. I've submitted a warranty claim and will update this review pending the result.

Best tires I bought in my life

Well what can be said that everybody else has.I have bought these tires recommended to me by one of my best friend who unfortunately passed away 5 yrs ago not that it is so important but I bought them in 11/2006. The only reason I am replacing them is due to a windfall I received I have @least 80,000 miles on this set & are showing actually age cracking in between the tread that doesn't bother me that much I've driven on less & with less tread I was going to wait until next year but plowing season is just around the corner & I hate to put my tire chains on the ones I made last year the best with ice cleats they are used on the Alaskan haul road. The dot # s are BFW8UJ113606

Best tire I've owned

I have about 60K miles on these with a 2014 Z-71 4 door. I'm about to order another set. I'm at the wear marks now on the shoulders. I see a review below that mentions a vibration which I had as well. After losing much of the tread over 60k miles, the balance will be off as the weight of the tire changes. It's simply physics. They ride as smooth as new after a new balance. I've gone through the woods, highway use and city streets with these. Florida sun/heat and rain are no issue at all. There is minimal road noise after all these miles which is to be expected from an A/T tire. GREAT tire and you get what you pay for!

Unhappy customer

We recently had to replace two of the four tires that were purchased under a year ago. They became bald after 8 months of use. I do not believe that these truck tires should wear out this quickly. First off, we were told by the sales person that these tires have had issues yet were still charged full price to replace them. Yes, we put 12,000 miles on them and not professionally rotated but, I'm still not convinced that we should have to replace our tires every 8 months. If I had to replace all 4 tires again, I would have purchased a different brand.

These are the best tires for any aggressive looking truck!

I bought a 2005 F150 FX4 Supercab about 2 months ago. The tires on it had no tread left on them so I had to buy new tires. I knew I was going to lift my truck and make it look very rugged so I wanted some aggressive looking tires. I paired these tires with (285/65/18 , 33's) with some 18x9 WORX Beast II. So far, I've probably only put 100 miles on them and they have held up way above my expectations. There is no tire noise while driving down the road and the tires look excellent on any aggressive truck! Would buy these again! This is my own personal review, I was not payed to write this.

great tread wear and traction for my Raptor

Use my Raptor for going hunting in winter and and run into muddy conditions most of the time. These tires have excellent traction and rid themselves of mud easily. I have never had any slick over with these tires. I rotate tires every 6,000 miles and check alignment. Absolutely no road noise on dry pavement and excellent wear. After 17,000 miles they still look new. Very pleased

Very Happy Customer

Purchased this tire three times. First set purchased on a 03 Silverado 2500HD 4x4- nicely balanced, great in snow and water, and stayed that way for the first 15,000 before I sold that truck. I just put a set on my son's Silverado 1500 4x4 about a month ago, and I just purchased a set to go on my 16 Silverado 3500HD CCLB. I made the decision to purchase these before heading out on a trip between Georgia and Virginia during the wicked snow storm last week (early Dec 18) and couldn't have been more pleased. The tires have consistently been well-balanced on all these trucks and super pleased the with wet and snow traction they offer.

So Far - Very Good!

We put the new BFG KO2's in a 265/70 R17C (6ply) configuration on our stock 2003 Toyota 4Runner 4.7L v8 4x4 with 17" stock alloy's and have run them for just about 3500 miles running at 50 psi and have been very pleased with them so far. The size is a slight up-tic from the stock tire, but is the size recommended via a call to Michelain's customer support help-line. The clearance in the front wheel well when the tire is turned hard right or left leaves about and inch against the interior well trimming. We have not had any rubbing or collection of debris trapping therein. We chose the C class feeling it would be a good compromise given the GVW of the V8 4runner and our intended use and all-around passenger comfort as opposed to the E class 8Ply configuration. We bought the 03 4.7L V8 4x4 (108K miles) because we wanted an old school rig we could go into the hills with and not worry about putting some Colorado pinstripes on while four-wheeling through tight tree lined tracks, tow a trailer if needed and run the interstate to Denver from our home in South-Central Colorado. So Far - Very Good! Both the Rig and the Tires. We've never enjoyed, or been impressed as much with a vehicle as much as this old V8 4Runner and the BFG KO2's have simply improved the vehicle which previously had a set of Michelin all-season radials. I was very concerned about road noise with the KO2's, but decided that we were going all in for them in that we wanted a tire that would serve better, the purpose for which we'd bought the rig. These tires are amazingly quiet! And I'm terribly picky and sensitive to road noise. In my opinion their noise increase over the all-season Michelins is so minimal as not to be noteworthy. As for performance, in November we took them for a spin up the rough and rocky 4X4 track which leads to Balman Reservoir and Rainbow lake in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We aired down to about 30 psi and were very pleased in that we weren't getting beat up by the 6ply's - this is a rough and very rocky road and the tires performed very well in dry, steep and steep track with loose gravel-scree and dirt. At higher elevation we ran into snow (perhaps 3" to start) and the tires did a great job their too. The only slippage was as we climbed in steep turning pitches where the rear end would slip a few inches out to the downhill side. Mostly due to the tracking of the trail itself. We stopped and turned back due to good sense and an extreme narrowing of the trail with a precipice on the right-hand downhill side of the track. The tires were willing; we on the other hand decided that in the fading light of day, good judgment and not the voice of the KO2's saying go for it was best. Also, upon returning to lower elevation and groomed dirt and pavement we did not observe and tire damage nor did the tread retain and gravel or rocks of any significance. - So Far- Very Good! On the highway we have enjoyed a confidant ride that does not pull or cause the vehicle to behave any differently than when we'd previously driven it on the all-season Michelins, a great tire for what they are designed to do -. As for fuel economy, if their is a negative it is negligible in that we've not noted any loss of merit in our mileage per tank - So Far - Very Good! As for paved roads and snow and ice, just last week on Saturday afternoon we happened to be obligated to drive in conditions that one would otherwise be advised to stay home and read about such adventures by a warm fire. It was Saturday, December 12th, the condition were snow, packing snow and straight-up skating rink (I've got 20 sliding, crash, ding and dent photo's to prove it!) You know, the footage you've seen scenes like it on the evening news people sliding while simply setting still - yah that stuff! The BFG KO2's were fantastic! I did put the 4runner in H-4 (four-wheel drive and but with the exception of those hard right or left turns in a tight circumference radius turn where the rear-end would give a bit of side-slip out and then recover, they instilled confidence and proved themselves a tire that, I will, without hesitation buy again and highly recommend to others.I gave the tires a 4-Star rating here as opposed to a 5 only in that we have not had them long enough to determine rubber compound longevity, overall durability and/or tread-live etc.,. All said, if you're thinking about a new All-Terrain or Snow Tire go buy BFGoodrich's All-Terrain KO2's, they will not disappoint.

Very good AT tire

Ran these on our Chevy Tahoe. Here are my disclaimers. 1) I buy my tires where rotation and balancing is free. 2) I rotate and balance the tires every 3500-5000 miles depending on how they appear to be wearing on the front. 3) I keep the air pressure at the optimal setting for the Tahoe and 5) I can tell when my vehicles need alignment and do so as soon as I see the alignment is out of spec. I've run BFG A/T's on most of our 4x4's since the early 90's. The last set we wore out ran 117,000 miles and our tire dealer said they had, at least, another 10,000 miles of tread on them, that was on our 2002 Chevy Tahoe. That is the longest I've made a set last. Most of the time, depending on the vehicle, my F-150 I only get about 70,000 miles out of a set. The F-150 wears the front outer edges faster than out Chevys. These tires are a very good balance of on road and off road compromises. They are okay in mud but you must spin them up a bit higher to clean out the tread. They are exceptionally good in snow and very good in icy, slush mix we have up in northern Ohio. When I lived in California, I found they were pretty good on sand and loose dirt. Overall, I would rate them one of the best tires Ive owned over the past 40 years. I personally don't like the look of the new sidewall design but the current tire is a bit better than the last generation so I can live with the design. I'm sure in another 4-5 years BFG will update the tire again. I've never had a BFG AT fail due to the manufacturing process. I have punched a hole through the sidewalk on a construction site and I have put a few nails through them over the years.
