Like an old friend.Old

I've used Michelin tires for probably 40 years. I have never had any problems with them. I'm getting old now and my last set of tires aged out and still had more than half of the tread left. Bought a new complete set of the same type of (Michelin Defenders) tires. I suspect these will be my last set before I have to turn in my drivers license as I will be very close to 90 years old by then.

Amazing tires

I have a lifted Ford F150 and I had a big mud tires and it was a ROUGH and LOUD ride. I had the Michelin Defenders installed today and it's like a completely different truck. It rides SO MUCH better and quiet it's hard to believe. I don't write a lot of reviews, but these tires are truly amazing and deserve a five star review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Tire – Smooth, Quiet, and Built to Last

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Tire – Smooth, Quiet, and Built to Last I couldn't be happier with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 tires. From the moment they were installed, the ride quality was noticeably smoother and quieter than anything I've run before. Highway driving is exceptionally stable and comfortable, even on long trips, and road noise is minimal. Wet traction is excellent and they inspire confidence in changing conditions. Steering feels solid and predictable, and the overall ride has a very “OEM-plus” feel — refined, controlled, and comfortable. These tires truly shine for highway miles and daily driving. What really sets them apart is the balance: comfort, durability, and performance all in one. You can tell these are built with quality materials and thoughtful engineering. They're not the cheapest option, but you absolutely get what you pay for — longevity, safety, and peace of mind. If you want a premium all-season tire that delivers a smooth ride, long tread life, and dependable performance, the Defender LTX M/S2 is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Not recommended for a luxury suv.

I regret purchasing these tires. Their ride is too hard and noisy. There is excess molding process flaps of rubber on two tires which should have been trimmed off at the factory. The Latitude Touring HP is a much better choice for a 2018 Lexus GX 460. I fell ill and didn't have the opportunity to ask for other tires within the Michelin allotted time period.

Great ride!

The Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 is a strong all-season tire that delivers a quiet, comfortable ride with excellent traction in both dry and wet conditions. It's known for long tread life, stable handling, and dependable braking, making it a great choice for daily driving, highway miles, and light weather. While it's not built for heavy off-roading or deep snow, it performs reliably in most everyday situations. Overall, it's a high-quality, durable tire that offers strong value and confidence on the road.

Loved the 1st set, have no doubt I'll love the new ones just as much

I put the Michelin Defender LTX M/S on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee when the stock Goodyear Forteras wore out and didn't even make it to 30,000 miles. I put over 90,000 miles on those Michelins and they still had about 3 or 4 thousand more miles left in them. Those things were amazing given my driving habits. I have a lead foot, I corner hard, brake hard, and I travel at speeds I won't mention. I still can't believe I got so many miles out of them. I even hit a pothole so bad, it bent my rim, but the tire had zero damage. Just got the newer M/S2 version. So far, I'm just as pleased. Quiet and comfortable, but seem to handle a bit better. One of the most important things I liked about the originals was the ability to avoid hydroplaning on the highway, which is a must in South Florida. They maintained consistent performance in wet weather through most of it's treadwear life, only diminishing slightly in the last couple thousand miles. The previous Goodyears were never as good, and even scary after 25,000 miles on them. I haven't had a chance to go through heavy downpours yet, but I assume these newer generation Michelins will be just as good, if not better than previous set. If I find anything not as good as the originals, I'll update. For now, I'm very happy and I better be for the price I paid. Lol. Seriously though, when you factor in the performance and longevity, these tires are actually cheaper than comparable tires in the long run.

good all around tire

I put these on a 2025 Honda Ridgeline nice Ride and very quiet their predecessor the LTX M/S had pretty good winter traction ( I had them on a few vehicles) and ran them through the winter so I expect these will be the same. Though they don't compare to an actual "winter tire" they are pretty good. Minus a star because they have limited sizes, couldn't find the size I wanted so had to settle for a tire an Inch taller.

Honest Review for Michelin Defender 2

I've driven about 30,000 miles on these tires, and while tread life and traction are excellent, the noise is absolutely unbearable. From day one, the road noise has been loud, droning, and constant — it doesn't matter if I'm on a smooth highway, backroad, or city street. The sound fills the cabin and never stops. They've worn evenly and still have tons of tread left, but I honestly can't take it anymore. Nobody wants to ride with me and it gives my daughter instant headaches. For a tire that's marketed as quiet, this has been the complete opposite experience.

New tires prior customer

I've purchased Michelin tires previously and I've been very pleased with the durability performance and handling. The tires have produced a very smooth ride. Please note the tires I'm reviewing are based on previous purchases not these particular tires.
