Good tire, but very hard ride

I now have approx. 40,000 miles on a set of these. They are in all respects very good tires. The wear seems to be as expected, they are great on wet highways and relatively quiet although as all Michelins do, they seem to be getting noisier as they wear. What I don't like is they are as hard as rocks and with every pothole or manhole it feels like the front of the truck is getting torn off. I had the Primacy's prior to these and for us, they were a much better tire. I don't do a lot of heavy hauling and would prefer the softer ride. I think I'll be going back to the Primacy in the future.

Great tire but harder compound and don't grip as well in the rain as the previous model

I have the F rated 35x12.5R22 tires on my 21 Ram 1500. These tires are great, but in hindsight I would have bought the metric equivalent in the E rating. These tires are heavy and stiff, and not as good as the Michelin tires I had on my last Tam. They weren't the 2 series.

Purchased these Defender LTX M/S2 little over a year ago, for my 2015 Chevy Silverado with 65K miles on the odometer. I have experienced all facets of weather conditions with these tires. Tires ride good for HIGHWAY applications. Tires ride good in the rain, but that is where it ends. Tires are very sloppy in the any amount of snow on the road. The tires are inflated to 35-psi, per Manufacture recommendations. The RIDE QUALITY is absolutely HORRIBLE. The tires ride so HARD that you feel EVERY bump and crevice in the road. Great on the HIGHWAY, but that's it. I have been purchasing Michelin products for 40-years and these are the worse I have ever had. I am very meticulous about products I purchase for my vehicles... safety and handling are always in the forefront. BUT RIDE QUALITY suffers greatly for these tires. Never had to give up on ride quality before, WHY NOW? Now my vehicles has rattles I've never had before! Michelin Team, please help!

Great Tire

I bought my 2nd set of Michelin Defenders after going 86,676mi on the first set. I never bought Michelin tires until I bought my first set of Defenders. I probably could have driven another 5k-7kmi but I noticed that traction wasn't that good in the rain with 86k plus miles. Very impressed with these tires quietness, longevity, and performance. When it's time to ditch the 2nd set of Defenders, I will definitely be buying a 3rd time.

Awesome tires.

Don't let the “all season” fool you. They definitely deserve to have the M/S on the side wall. I would even argue the 3PMSF. They are super grippy in the snow and cold. Seemed to be quiet and comfortable. They have been out in plus degree weather and -20 and handled with ease. Tread life is amazing as well. They look sleek and the design is smooth. Highly recommend these tires. You do really get what you paid for.

Not smooth, not quiet, but very capable

This is a nice truck tire, but it is a truck tire. I can feel every bump and seam on the highway. It's noisy and unrefined, so I suppose this is a truck tire. I puchased a set for a 2018 Lincoln Navigator and the tires removed the luxury aspect of the vehicle. Thanks to Michelin's ride satisfaction promise, I was able to exchange the Defender LTX M/S2 for a set of CrossClimate2 SUV tires. The ride quality and noise is like night and day. Moving from a Highway All-Season (LTX) to a Grand Touring AS (CrossClimate) was the answer. I would not buy the LTX again for a luxury vehicle.

Great Tires

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Defender tires were such a great find. They are durable and strong. Also great quality. They look great on the car as well. I am looking forward to these new tires and will feel safe using them when driving my family.

I hope they'll be good eventually...

I purchased the tires Dec 27 2024 and when they finally arrived had them balanced and installed on January 31st 2025. Very bumpy ride quality after my OEM Goodyears with 88,000 km on them that still gave a very smooth ride. The shop tried to rebalance on Feb 24th and the ride quality is worse now and there's definetly something wrong. I think I'll like them once this is sorted out but lots of hassle and time wasted so far. I read such good reviews I was really expecting better. Also it was interesting these tires were made in Brazil. At this point I'll give the tires 2 stars not knowing if its a bad tire(s) or a bad install and balance. So with that said I want to like them but not yet.

Awesome tire

Had these tires replace original Bridgestone Duellers on my 2018 GMC Yukon XL. Great ride, handling and quiet. Original replacement were Toyo Open Country but did not work with my vehicle at all. Tire dealer changed to Michelin after one month and difference was night/day. Definitely worth slight cost premium.

Love Love Love my Michelin Defenders

My truck was sold new with Bridgestone tires. I couldn't wait to get them off and get my Michelin Defenders put on. The ride is noticeably better. I'm a lifetime Michelin tire owner on all of my trucks. When I was 21 years old, I had a sidewall blowout with another brand of tires and was seriously injured. Ever since I've been using Michelin or Goodyear tires only. I prefer Michelins for my trucks, but Goodyear is equivalent in my estimation for passenger cars. The noise is less with Michelins and seem to last longer. Handling and traction are good.
