Better options out there

On the plus side, they're quiet and have fairly low rolling resistance. Lousy wet traction, ok (not good) snow traction. 1 and a half years old, 12,000ish miles and sidewalls are already showing signs of cracking. Previous tire was Wildpeaks - better in every way but road noise (they got quite loud with wear) and mileage.

Durability for rough roads and a lot of miles

Living in the mountains on a somewhat rocky dirt road necessitates a solid tire. I recently replaced my 2015 Outback that had 200k miles, with a new, used Outback Wilderness. It came with brand new 3 peak rated tires, but they just looked too much like a tire that lives on paved roads, so I chose to have my fairly used, over 34k mile, Trail-Terrain tires transferred to the new car instead of the brand new tires. The Trail-Terrain tires are looking way better at this milage than previous brands I've had. They have the right amount of off road ability that I need, and have the 3 peak rating, although there is no driving up my steep dirt road when there is snow. They now have 40k miles on them and I am amazed at the longevity compared to others in the class that I've had.

These tires are terrible on ice almost to the point it’s dangerous to drive. Vehicle will not stop and back end will fish tail. Rubber is way too hard.

Noise

These are the worst tires I ever own. They make so much noise i can't stand to drive the truck much.

Complete shambles - Do not waste your time.

Worst tires ever. Avoid at all costs. The mechanics attempted for two days to install this dross on my truck to no avail. Had to switch to another set of four tires from another manufacturer.

New Favorite

Excellent tire. It's quiet for typical highway driving at speeds. It rides smooth like the factory offerings. Traction on highway has been good, even on wet roads. Offroad it does everything I need it to do. It also balances out nice, as far as the road feel. I did favor the Nitto Grappler G2's, but they are discontinued, so I chose these as a replacement. So far I am more happy with these. Much quieter and smoother than the G2's, and they are balanced. I have a 2wd Ram 1500. I kayak fish, so I needed something to handle off pavement driving, but I'm not looking to stick my truck in the bogs of the way-back. Just some sand and gravel and occasional boat ramps, and so far they are great. I've only had them for 4 or 5 months, and I've made several 500+ mile trips. So far so good. I'll probably buy another set for my work truck.

Great All-Around Truck Tire

I just got these in 265/70-16 for my 2011 Frontier SV 4x4. They are the new equivalent of the old Radial Long Trail T/A tires that were OE on my truck. These are the best tires I’ve ever purchased personally. The dealer I bought the truck from had replaced the original tires with Ironman tires. Weren’t the worst, but not the best either. But when those wore out, I replaced them with the BFG Trail-Terrain T/A’s. The truck is both my work truck and my personal vehicle. It’s serving double duty. I mainly drive on the street/highway but I do occasionally do some light off roading to a camp or fishing site on the weekends. So far, these fit the bill perfectly. I love the look, the traction is outstanding, they are QUIET, and they have a very comfortable ride for a truck tire. They also handle very well in the rain and in turns. I’m very happy with them so far and I look forward to trying them in the snow this winter!

Good so far

Got 1000 miles on them so far with my 2019 Ram 1500 4x4. Took a 3 hour trip primarily driving on the highway with no complaints. Smooth and quiet. I went to these from Continental Terrain Contact A/T. The Conti is a slightly better ride but only lasted me 35k miles and my mpg went down about 1 mpg. I trailer a boat on gravel roads that have sharp rocks... The BFG's are a little more aggressive giving me a little added confidence in durability. They definitely feel more rugged and protected. No issues yet on wet roads. So far, I have no regrets and would recommend them.

K02 to Trail Terrain

K02's wore out, needed some new tires and went for a step down because road noise was getting terrible with the K02's. Silverado 1500 with the 275x65r18. I no longer wanted 10 ply tires, K02's are awesome, tough but man they are harsh and loud! Not terrible in town or on nice highways but country crap roads and terrible town roads they are annoying after a while. I can't say enough good about the Trail Terrains! So quiet! So smooth! Things I have notices so far, I went from 18MPG combined to 21MPG. Rolling resistance is almost not even there with the TT tires. Letting off the gas to slow down coming in to town where it turns to 35 I had it nailed with the K02's where I didn't have to use the brake, I let off the gas with the TT tires and I am still going 60Mph by the time I hit the 35Mph zone! Rumble strips in the middle of the road you hardly feel now. I tried every tire pressure on the K02's finding 55 front, 45 rear to be the most comfortable and least noise over the 3 years I drove on them. The TT tires have 34 PSI. The TT tires are 2 ply so the ride is so much smoother. Handling seems to be about the same, they just feel great. They don't look quite as good but they are nice looking tires and just so much better on the road.
