My first set of these tires came with the car when I bought it new. I put 55,000 miles on them before I replaced them. Back in the day, I would have driven until I had a flat, but no more. I could have put another 5 K on them, but safety first. Also the traction was a little off.

This is my fifth or sixth set of Defender 2 tires. These are the only tires I will by and recommend to family and friends. I live in New England with warm hot summers, rainy spring and icy and snowy winters. These tires are GREAT! And with an 80,000 warranty and Michelin standing behind it - I love the tires.

I replaced Goodyear tires on my wife's Acura TLX with a set of Michelin Defender2's. I also replaced the OE Firestone tires on my mother in law's Jeep Compass with the Michelin Defender2 tires. My wife and Mother in law immediately told me that their vehicles ride way better, handles better, and it is more quiet in their vehicles. As for the design, I love the way Michele tires look on almost all vehicles. All I can say about the construction and materials is that the tires appear to be made well. I am 53 years old and have never had a Michelin tire let me down. So I trust Michelin enough to use their tires on my family's vehicles. Needed new tires for my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. They had Continental tires on them previously. The first and only tire I considered were Michelin tires so I researched SUV tires and chose the Defender 2. What a great looking tire and solid ride and feel.

Buying Michelin Tires goes back many years starting with my family. Paying a higher price for a tire is worth every cent and the warranty on the Michelin Defender 2 goes a long way on the wear and tear on the tires. The Defender 2 is a quite and smooth tire and I am very satisfied with the performance of the tire.

We have had Michelin Defender tires before and loved them. They rode nice and smooth on our 2011 Toyota Sienna. Then we hit a nail on the sidewall and our dealer was out of Defenders. We regret putting other tires on. Just put our 3rd new set of Defenders on and happy.

We purchased the Michelin Defender 2 tires for our SUV in the spring of 2025 and they have exceeded our expectations. They are fantastic in all conditions (except snow, havent had that to try yet) and they handle great. Not only that, but they are quiet and provide a comfortable ride. I am looking forward to using these tires happily for many years to come. Oh, the braking performance is very solid as well. We purchased 235/60/18 for our 2020 Honda Ridgeline.

The ride is so smooth and the noise level is so much better than the tires that were on the car when I originally purchased it gently used. I use the car when taking my parents to their doctors appointment and both of them commented about the difference in the ride and the cars handling in taking turns. My brother always recommends Michelin, and my dad was impressed by the name drop and said “there the best”. The tread is top notch and the warrantee impeccable, they seem well constructed. I live in a state famous for its potholes and having the worst roads in the country, and these tires have handled the heavy construction zones of nearly every highway being in constant state of repair but never ever being done and always ending up worse than when they started “improving” them.

Great tire, absolutely 0 smooth-road noise, but I notice a reactionary thump over a certain type of road ripple, most likely due to the fact that the suspension was tuned for the Yokohamas that my van was designed with. I chose Michelin for their legendary safety record and I also lucked in to a tire with a long tread life. The original Avid tires had worn to a concerning tread depth at only 56 000 KM.

I had defender tires on my old vehicle… super quiet and smooth. They made it 110,000 miles.. super happy. So I bought the new defender2 tire. Something has changed in the compound of the defender2 tire. Rides much rougher and and not nearly as quiet as the continental tires that came on my MDX. Decent … but not overwhelmed by these tires.
