I understand that big oversized fans like this are going to be loud; however this fan went well beyond this level almost a metal grinding sound that when you hearing it you cannot not hear it

A good fan, convent controls on the front, able to hang from a wall. However, not the most powerful fan for this size as far as the volume of air it moves. Seems to be well made, but only time will tell how long it will last with regular usage. Fans should last a long time since most are only used at most six months out of the year. The price is fair.

Absolutely moves air and keeps you cool even in this Texas heat, but it is a little loud. If you want a fan for comfort, this is your fan, but if you want a fan the will give you a breeze and allow you to still have a normal volume conversation, look further.

Very noisy fan as it vibrates and forms high-pitched ringing noises. Returned it for another one and found that the second one does the same thing. Possible bad manufacturing. Beware.
