I purchased this to replace a Shark Animal vacuum. In comparison, the Bissell is heavier and has weaker suction. The Shark lets you fine tune the suction power for things like throw rugs. The Bissell doesn't clean floors that well. For areas under furniture, one needs to use the vacuum turbo brushroll but it is only about 4" wide, so it's quite inefficient and probably shouldn't be used on delicate surfaces. Advertised as "tangle free," it's unlikely to be so. I purchased a separate brush for the Bissell elsewhere but its size was only about 1 x 2-1/2 inches, smaller than a hair brush. I like the light on the Bissell, but don't expect it to last very long. Overall, this Bissell was a disappointment and I cannot whole-heartedly recommend it.
