Definitely would buy this kind of tires again

Tires came with my Buick Verano 2016 Touring Edition Endured the heavy full pack drive from San Diego to Virginia encountering storms, some dirt road in Texas and Potholes along the way. I even went like 120 mph on it. I have 34,000 miles on my car and I love going fast the tires keeps up with me even with the curbs on exits when you slow down from 80 down to a 25 miles exit. I would definitely buy the same tires as replacement when the time comes because it's already tested.

impressive

We purchased a factory new 2008 Ford Fusion and these tires came with the car. Regular rotations and 70,000 miles later, they easily just passed inspection! Even this year alone, the car has taken us through snow storms in Arkansas and Texas and we never even though about the tires as they have always come through for us. The Texas rains and extreme heat have always been there to offer up torture and we just keep rolling along.

Great overall tire

I am on my third set of Continental ProContacts and that statement pretty much sums it up. These tires are so good, I don't even consider another type for my car. My 2006 Fusion now has over 116K miles on it and they work great. Smooth and quiet ride, handles good in wet and dry conditions, great traction....I could go on and on, but simply, they are darn good tires that don't sock you in the wallet. How good are they? I am going to put a set on a 1976 Mercury Montego MX that I am restoring and the size I am going for has a whitewall design to fit the look of the car.

Shopping for a New Set Today

This was the tire that came with our new Ford Escape and we're shopping for new tires as our mileage approaches 80,000 on this set. We could actually get a lot more miles out of them, but Winter arrived early in Wisconsin in 2019 and the tread depth just isn't what it should be a full season of snow and ice. In warm weather climate, I wouldn't even think of changing tires for another 10,000 miles.

Best Tires I have owned

These tires came on my 2007 VW and have performed well. I feel that, at 59k miles, they still have sufficient tread left. I just took a trip east (Ohio, West Va, & Va) through the mountains and through a wooded camp site and my ContiProContacts did a great job. I will replace them this fall (2011) with the very same model/brand. They will have lasted just over 60m miles with good performance. The photo I am uploading is the tread depth after our trip through the mountains. This is probably good enough for fair weather, conservative driving but definitely need replaced before winter. I have never had a set of tires last this long and give this kind of well-rounded performance. J.L

3rd Set on Car

My 07 GTI came with these tires as OE, 50K on first set, 55K on second set. The 3rd set will be mounted on Friday. I stuck with the Conti's because they have served me well and figure that changing to another less expensive tire may prove to be a bad decision. Only issue I have is that they aren't the greatest in the snow so I have a set of winter tires to help with that matter. In the rain these tires are fine, including when they are at the end of tread life. I had to make an emergency stop in the rain when the first set had 45K on them and I was shocked that they didn't brake free on the wet road and the anti-lock brakes didn't even kick in. My experience is that some tires work great on some cars but poorly on others. My other car a 2000 Audi A4 has the same tire and they wear somewhat quicker but still perform very well.

Weak Sidewall Tires

Drove over a pothole and a front tire sidewall cracked and tore.. I didn't think much of it because hey, those kinds of things happen. But a week later the outside sidewall on one of my rear tires developed a big bubble - totally unrelated to the pothole incident. I have absoluteltly no faith in these tires. In fact, my feeling is they are a high risk purchase.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We recommend returning to the place of purchase to have the tire inspected for warranty consideration. The local dealer should be able to determine if the damage is due to impact with the pothole or another issue. Should you or the dealer have a question, please contact our office Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM ET, at 1-800-847-3349.

Almost 50,000 miles on tires - at 3/32

I own 2009 BMW 328i sedan with optional 17 inch wheels and my tires came as original equipment (run-flats). My car is currently at 49000 miles and I checked the treads on my tires - currently at 3/32 on all tires. Per recommendation of BMW, I kept the tires properly inflated at all times and did not rotate the tires. (BMW does not recommend tire rotations) I am planning to replace these tires soon. I am going to get the same tires. On my previous BMW, I had same tires (16 inch ones - run flats) installed after original equipment Bridgestone run flats worn out only after 20000 miles. I am very satisfied with these tires. They last longer than other run flat tires and deliver excellent traction and performance. Run flat tires are usually noisy, but these tires are very quiet at all speeds.

Very harsh ride and very noisy

We own 2 Jaguar X-types, a 2003 with 16-inch wheels and a 2004 with 17 inchers, both cars purchased new and equipped with ProContacts. I know little technical information about tires, so simply have had my Jaguar dealer replace them with the same Conti ProContacts when required. We have homes on Cape Cod and in Sarasota and so drive in a variety of conditions. (I drive to New Hampshire to ski, and of course we have summer conditions in Florida.) The tires are just unbelievably noisy, the car with 17-inch wheels being by far the worst. (I notice others on this site complain of noise.) Moreover, the ride on the 17-inchers is very, very harsh. Any small pothole -- and there are lots on Cape Cod roads -- means a severe, stomach-turning jolt. So much so that I am finally learning all I can about tires and I intend to replace these at the first opportunity. I also happen to be an enthusiastic road biker, and give Conti high marks for their bike tires. It is unfortunate that they do not do better on auto tires.

Very quiet on subaru outback

Before purchasing the outback I tried many cars with a radio shack sound level meter. There was great noise variation and the subaru was the quietest. These tires are very quiet, for those experiencing noise levels I suggest changing the car not the tires. I have not driven long enough to comment on tread life. I get 30 mpg on highway
