The mythology behind the liqueur stretches back to 615 AD when coffee beans were first cultivated and first distilled in the Yucatan. Kahlua is made from a base of sugar cane (rum) rather than grain and was first officially produced in 1936 as a part of Allied Domecq but it was the redefined formula from 1962 that is known today. The liqueur was sold to Pernod-Ricard in 2005. The term kahlua is roughly translated as "house of the Acolhua people," a tribe connected to the Aztecs in the Meso-American cultures. Kahlua Licor de Cafe is the flagship label and one of the top-selling liqueur brands in the world. It's featured in legions of cocktails, including the popular White Russian.

The first thing that comes to mind whenever I see [product:kahlua-original-coffee-liqueur] is "the dude abides". The key ingredient of one of the best refreshing drinks, the white Russian. Always good when relaxing at the end of a hard day or if your getting the weekend started by the pool. Kahlua has that great coffee taste that blends well with anything you want to mix it with.

I absolutely love this as a sweet drink only. I usually only drink sweet drinks a few times a month really. This tastes great with coffee which is my preference. It is somewhat affordable, but I wouldn't purchase very often as I don't drink sweet very much.

We have not stepped out to far in the world of Kahlua. I want my local store to supply more flavors just so I can try more. The cost is right there for what the product is. It is affordable and I believe it should be included into a bar. I will be buying it again and including more flavors/types soon.

I adore having this around in the liquor cabinet for mornings when I need a little pick me up,it's a special day or holiday or if perhaps I'm not feeling well. It's lovely in my coffee because it's not too sweet but it has a warm flavoring. I love to buy this

Kahla Original Coffee Liqueur makes me happy when I make the occasional Mudslide, White Russian or the Expresso Martini. I have learned that since I dont use it that often it is best to keep it refrigerated and that way I dont have to remember to refrigerate it before using and it also doesnt go bad.

During the holidays an the winter weather some enjoy a nice warm cup of hot coco. Well so do i but i like to kick mine up with a shout of kahula. Start my morning off an get my blood going with a shot in my coffee. Its such a diverse liquor and you the drink an mixture possibilities are endless. I highly recommend it if you have not tried it yet.

Bring on the coffee, yes this has caffeine in it along with your alcohol. So not only are you buzzed but your wide awake to boot. This drink is not for the faint of heart. It's very strong and while it mixes well with all sorts of beverages I don't recommend you drink it straight. It's just too intense on its own.

This is a serious must have if you enjoy coffee or chocolate type of drinks. I’ve never tried it alone however it is definitely an important ingredient for drinks like White Russians which are my personal favorite. I’ve also had regular Kaluah and milk and it’s very tasty
