I bought these after a friend who has worked in the retail tire business for years recommended them to me. I was going to buy Michelin Cross Climate 2s but he said these are better. They are on a late model Toyota Camry.
I have had top of the line Michelin, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Dunlop, and General tires on my vehicles.
These ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires have excellent starting, stopping, and cornering traction, wet or dry. We drive twisty mountain roads every day and these tires make it easy to drive the mountain curves, from tightening radius turns to 180s. They have two ply sidewalls which make the tires more predictable when initiating and following a curve.
A poorly implemented two ply sidewall can cause ride harshness over bumps but these Contis absorb road irregularities better than any tire I've had on my car. When I first had these put on the car, I was looking for manhole covers, potholes, and expansion joints to see if anything would be transmitted but none had the jarring effect that other tires exhibit.
Usually tires that have good traction have some bad noise characteristics in a range of speeds or over some surfaces; these tires are quiet over all but a very worn asphalt road, and even then it's just a little increase in noise.
These tires improved my Camry in a way that I didn't think possible. They are excellent tires.
