Very noisy

I have had a set of four Defender LTX 245/65 R17 on my Toyota Higlander for six months, I have had many dozens of Michelin tires over the last 40 years. I have always found them to be the best tires available. Best ride, and quietest tires I have had. This last set has been very disappointing. They are the noisiest tires I have ever had.

LTX MS2 on a Ford Super Duty

I drive a 2009 Ford F250 rear wheel drive truck. I use the truck as a daily commuting vehicle and to tow a 9000 pound travel trailer during camping season. I wanted a tire that would be smooth and quiet with low rolling resistance for daily drive, good traction for New England winter driving, and a long tread life. So far after almost 11 months including one winter with several snow storms these tires have been great! They have lived up to my (very high) expectations. They have been quiet and smooth for a heavy duty truck and E load rating.

Michelin Can't Be Beat

I have been a Michelin customer since the late 1960's. I have always replaced OEM tires with Michelin so I do have some experience on comparing performance. My latest Michelin's, the LTX M/S2, are on a F-150. They gave me a slight improvement on highway mpg and have great wet traction. I have yet to have the truch fishtail. One reason I stick with Michelin is that they last. These tires have around 30,000 miles and still have more than half the tread left. Our car has the MXV4 and they perform equally as well. I always feel safe riding on Michelin's.

SAFETY - DURABILITY - QUIET TRACTION

. . .I've been riding on Michelin Tires for a long time & have NEVER had a complaint; they are QUIETER than other brands & I feel secure knowing they are a VERY SAFE TIRE! I recommended the LTX MS2 tire to my best friend living above the snow line; he is impressed by their traction ( over the less durable snow tires "recommended" by his tire shop!). What can I say; pay a little more and get the GOOD TIRE - MICHELIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tread wear so so !!

Truck was purchased new with this tire from dealership. Michelin stated 70,000 mile wear out … I had to change tire at 40,000 to pass state inspection. I keep my vehicle in top condition including the tire pressure and rotation. Michelin pro rated tires but said I should have gotten another 20,000. Lucky if I would have gotten 10,000. I have owned Michelin's on many of my cars and never had a tread problem … Bad batch maybe? I love the Ride and Handling the tire gives. Truck came with Michelin's so I'm keeping Michelin's bought 4 more.

ONE OF THE BEST TIRES ON THE ROAD!

I had the Michelin LTX M/S2 installed on my 2008 Honda RIdgeline 2 years ago , I am a traveling salesman and I put a lot of miles on my vehicle a year . Earlier this year I had to replace them as they were down to the last 4/32nds of tread, we looked up how many miles I had on these tires and I was amazed I had a total of 98,000 miles!!! I have never gotten that kind of mileage from any other tire that I have tried , here is a tire that has it all, great all season traction , comfortable smooth ride and long lasting, way to go Michelin!

Mixed Bag

I bought these to replace some aging A/T tires (different brand) on my full-sized van. The old tires had been great, but did not have the tread depth to survive another Michigan winter. The reviews looked good on the MS2 tires, and they came highly recommended. I have had Michelin tires on other cars, and know to trust the name. The pros: 1. The MS2 is a highway tire, and much quieter than the A/T tires that I had previously. 2. The tread pattern is deep, and the siping provides excellent traction in snowy/icy conditions. Overall, I'm very impressed with the traction. Straight-line braking is good. 3. The ride around town is comfortable. The cons: 1. Even when properly inflated, these tires do not provide good handling at highway speeds. The old tires that I had previously gave a much more crisp steering response. My vehicle is very large, and I don't expect it to corner like a sports car, but the MS2's make me feel like I'm piloting a large boat, when compared with the ride and handling with my old tires. There are significant delays in steering response, and "wallow" in the back end of the van, even under gentle cornering and lane changes on dry roads. I have to anticipate curves on the highway and turn into them earlier than before in order to maintain good lane position. Even when not towing a trailer, cross-winds can be a bit scary, whereas with the previous tires I had, wind gusts were just a minor annoyance. 2. My fuel economy has been down since I had these tires put on. I can't say for sure that it's due to the tires, and it's only down by 1-2mpg, but that is a significant percentage when the overall fuel economy average for this large vehicle is less than 15mpg. Conclusion: If I had known about the 30-day satisfaction guarantee on these tires, I would have chosen to swap them for a different brand. I'm not an expert, but my guess is that the sidewalls are just not stiff enough to provide confident handling on the highway.

Great Tires , would purchase again

I originally purchased these tires for my 2008 Silverado once the OEM tires wore out. I then purchased a 2011 Silverado and had the tires from the 2008 installed on the 2011 due to the lousy tires that were on the Chevy product. I had 20,000 miles on the tires when I put them on the new vehicle and have now accumulated 17,000 more miles and they still have plenty of tread.

LTX M/S2

I have a set of 265/70/16 LTX M/S 2"s on my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. I've had them for about 25,000 miles now and they are still well over 50% tread left. I've been most impressed with the ride smoothness and wet and dry traction of this tire. It's a huge improvement over the factory tires on this vehicle. The only complaint I have(and its really not a fault of the tire) is that it doesn't seem to handle as well as I would like. However, you have to keep in mind that I am an aggressive driver and this is an suv with tall tires on it and most of my previous vehicles were more sport oriented. That being said, I believe the handling is as good as any other suv tire out there. My experience with this tire in snow and off road hhas been limited but it exceeded my expectations in both categories. Iwould no doubt recommend this tire to anyone wanting a high quality tire for their suv.

Extraordinary performance

Replace our original tires on our 2007 escape with Michelin LTX M/S2 tires. The difference was immediately noticeable. Much quieter ride. WE have them balanced, rotated and vehicle aligned regularly to optimize wear. The last time I asked for an estimate on their life remaining after two years on the car and the manager said they still looked brand new and would probably only need to be replaced due to age rather than wear. They still ride like a brand new set of tires and we are very satisfied especially that the price we paid was definitely not as expensive as other tires in the long run. Would buy the same tires again for this vehicle if we still have it when the time comes due. Will remain a Michelin customer for life. If I buy another new vehicle, I would request that Michelin tires be on the vehicle at time of purchase.
