Great Tires

I contacted Michelin prior to making the purchase in ordeer to get the greatest set of tires for my Honda Accord. I got the Defender T+H. They are perfect for my vehicle. They ride smooth and are safe during wet or dry conditions. Will get another set when they ever wear out in the future.

Hands down, Michelin, the best tires at the best price

I bought four tires and had them installed on 11/23/2020. You may wonder, how can you rate them so high after just one day? Glad you asked, for the last 40 years or so, being in the transportation industry, driving passenger cars, luxury buses, tanker trucks (18 wheelers) etc… nothing compares to Michelin tires. They are the best. I have five passenger cars that have been driven 200k plus miles each. When I try other brands I'm always sorry. After you put 50k or 60k miles on a tire, that's when it's easy to feel the Michelin difference. They are just as smooth as when you first put them on. Of course you have people complaining about them being bumpy, however that is not the fault of the tire. Let me explain; when I installed new Michelins on the front wheel drive 2007 Chevy Impala, with 176k miles, it was very important to install new struts and shocks first. You may not know that it takes less than 5k miles to destroy a set of brand new tires (make them bumpy) installed on a vehicle with worn out struts and shocks. Along the same lines, make sure to do a wheel alignment. For best results, do the work in the following order: 1. New shocks 2. New Michelins 3. Wheel alignment Next, have you ever thought of why all these tire places want you to rotate the tires? Answer: to sell more tires. It is true (especially on front wheel drive cars) that, when rotated, the tires wear more even. What they will not tell you is this: yes, they wear more even, EVEN FASTER. I have driven Michelin Defenders mounted on the back of a front wheel drive car, for 92k miles, no rotating allowed. Yes, the front tires wore out in 52k miles due to a bad wheel alignment that had nothing to do with the tires. All I had to do was to buy two, not four, new tires for the front and fix the wheel alignment. At 52k miles, the tires on the back hardly looked used and they lasted another 40k miles. If I had them rotated, I would destroy all my tires evenly, even faster. If you are interested in an ultra-smooth ride and spending the least amount of money, buy Michelin tires and carefully read and follow the instructions above. david

Feel safe tires

Have been driving with Michelin tires for over thirty years. They have taken us safely through ice and snow on our yearly drive of 1800 miles from Edmonton Alberta to Phoenix Arizona. Now a widow, not driving much but got new Michelin tires last fall and love them.

Let's see this 80,000 starting now!

I just purchase these tires and will keep an update ongoing. So far, don't hear the noise as other owners mentioned. Feels like they are absorbing unmanaged roads better than the stock Firestones on 2019 Hybrid Camrys, which only get 25k - 30k miles.

Tremendous Improvement

I bought the original Defender tires in August 2013, impressed with the 90k warranty. The wet/snow traction was terrible and they only lasted 61k miles even though I rotated them every 6k miles. I just had Defender T+H installed under warranty. I live in central IL and the wet/snow traction is night and day different. Now I can have some confidence when driving in snow again. The original Defender was terrible. We'll see how the tires wear in the coming years.

Safe anywhere and oh so smooth!

We've been riding on our new tires (all four) since August 2021. We have taken long highways trips and have climbed the mountains of the Western Catskills in New York. I never felt safer. The ride was so smooth that if my eyes were closed, I wouldn't know if I were on the highway or the dirt mountain road.

Good for city, very poor for highway!

Had these tires for 10 months and they cannot hold the road at highway speeds. This is very noticeable on curves when driving over 80 km/h and also when braking at high speeds! There could be technical or design reasons but I think this is a lower quality tire than the previous two sets of Michelin tires I used. I ended up with the Defender T+H because the Michelin Pilot MXM4 was retired and the Defender supposedly replaced it. Sadly, it didn't measure up.

Loudest Michelin tire

After many years and many miles, took off a set of Michelin Primacy tires and replaced them with Michelin Defender T + H tires on my wife's 2008 Toyota Avalon Limited. These Defender T+H are are loudest Michelin tires I ever hand a car. They were load enough that I though it may have been a wheel bearing, but the Toyota dealer said it was the tires. Previous tires were quiet Michelin HydroEdge on a Nissan Maxima and Michelin Premier on a Buick Lucerne. I should have bought Michelin Premier which were smoothest quietest tires ever. But bought the Defender T+H because of the extreme long tread life.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Jeff. We would recommend getting a tire inspection at an authorized dealer. Please have the dealer contact us at 866-866-6605 to report their findings.

Great performance

This is my second set of Defenders on two different vehicles and I also own a set of X-Ice Snow used on a front wheel drive Japanese sedan. Michelin's renowned quality is far from overrated. The Defenders T+ H delivers an amazing stable smooth and silent ride. Didn't gave 5 stars because there are better Michelin products for handling heavy puddling rain conditions at high speed. Not a problem for a seasoned driver but I wouldn't let my old father exceed 60 mph in a rainstorm on crappy Quebec roads.

Improvements in comfort, handling, safety and noise reduction

Instantly upgraded the complete driving experience on out Toyota Prius. Both comfort and handling improved while the road noise was reduced! Other reviews say they aren't the lightest of tires, so we did see a 1mpg reduction, but expect many miles of use out of them. We've tested them in rain, light snow and dry conditions and never felt unsafe.
