OK traction but poor tread life.

I bought my LTX M/S2 tires in Sept. 2014 and currently have about 39000 miles on them. Lincoln's head is just now showing so they only have a few thousand miles to go. No where near the 70K. Wet and dry traction has been good but not fantastic. Snow traction is OK as long as it's not deep snow then forget it, 6 inches and it's tough going. I didn't check the pressure monthly but my truck has a TPMS so they were never run low and I rotated tires several times. I expected better from a name like Michelin and not sure I'll buy another set of them.

A great Tire

Great Tires. Have had them for 6 months now. So far have not noticed any wear. Smooth comfortable ride. Mainly driven on City streets. Some Highway driving. No long trips yet. City is doing chipsealing work. I love the fact that these tires hardly get any rock chips in them because of the tread pattern. No winter driving as of this posting. I hope they will last as long or longer than my old tires did (8 years). Time will tell. No dislikes as of yet, have not had the tires long enough. I was not compensated in exchange for writing this review.

not happy with adjustment

for a 70,000 mile tire, I had to have them replaced at 25,00 miles for weather checking after 4 years. tires were not driven in winter and garaged for 6 mths when off the road. roughly 25,000 miles on tires, which were mostly towing our 5th wheel RV. with the medial adjustment we received, tires still cost more than when we purchased new tires 4 years ago. just wish my wage went up that much per centage

I recently purchased a used 2007 GMC Acadia. When I first test drove it, Acadias come with a Brand-X tire that I do not like. It made alot of road noise. Although the tires had alot of tread left, I chose to get a new set of Michelins LTX MS2s. Wow, what a differnce they make. The Acadia rides smoother and it is so much quieter! My wife even commented that "it felt better driving in the rain". It turns out, alot of Acadia owners have replaced their factory tires with Michelins and are very happy. Keep making a great tire!

Great ride,great performance,great tire!

There is a reason I decided to purchase Michelin tires again for my SUV. The previous set of Michelins lasted over 104,000 miles and I couldn't have been happier with them. Despite having a little bit of tread life left on my previous tires, I decided since winter was coming I would go ahead and purchase a new set to ensure the safety of my family and I. I purchased the LTX M/S2's, and I am very pleased with these tires. I have plenty of experience driving in different conditions with the LTX M/S2 tire, including snow, rain, and ice....with NO complaints. I recognize the fact that these tires are a bit more expensive than others on the market, but there is a reason for that. They are simply higher quality, longer lasting, better performing, and safer. Had I went cheap when I bought my previous set of tires in 2007, I would have had to buy 2 sets of tires to last the 104,000 miles which my Michelins did. So I leave you with this, buying higher quality may be slightly more expensive in the beginning, but less expensive in the end, and will ensure your satisfaction with the tire every mile you drive in between. Thanks Michelin for giving me and my family peace of mind on the road everyday.

ONE OF THE BEST TIRES ON THE ROAD!

I had the Michelin LTX M/S2 installed on my 2008 Honda RIdgeline 2 years ago , I am a traveling salesman and I put a lot of miles on my vehicle a year . Earlier this year I had to replace them as they were down to the last 4/32nds of tread, we looked up how many miles I had on these tires and I was amazed I had a total of 98,000 miles!!! I have never gotten that kind of mileage from any other tire that I have tried , here is a tire that has it all, great all season traction , comfortable smooth ride and long lasting, way to go Michelin!

I recently bought 4 Michelin LTX M/S 2 tires (P265 75 R16) for my 1996 Chevrolet K1500 Z71 truck. My old Michelin LTX M/S tires were worn out so I decided to stick with Michelin since I got great tread wear and mileage out of my old ones. The new M/S 2 tires are outstanding! The comfort ride, no tire noise driving down the road, and the tire appearance and style is a plus. Knowing that I have Michelin tires underneath me makes me feel safe and also to my passengers. I would recommend this tire to anyone. The name Michelin says it all.

Not that impressed

So far I have about 5,000 on this set of tires. I have them on a jeep and let the guys at the tire store convince me they had all the traction I needed. They would be correct if you never drive off pavement. We had an ice storm and the tires gripped better than any I have ever had. Wet pavement seems to be great as well. So the down side; I keep very good records and did not see an improvement in MPG. The bigger issue for me was that the tires are nearly worthless off pavement. I almost got stuck on wet grass. The old set of Open Country tires had no issues on the same field with 80,000 miles of wear. My impression, if you only are on pavement they are a great tire, just don't push it in snow, mud, or even wet grass.

Beware - Gas mileage dropped over 13%

The LTX M/S 2's are the 5th set of Michelins I have purchased for my various vehicles - 3 other sets beng LTX M/S and the orginal Michelin A/S tires, that these new LTX M/S 2's replaced. They went on a 2010 Ford F150 Crew Cab that I use for business. The priginal A/S tires lasted 92,000 miles which I thought was good. As you can tell by the year and the mileage, I put between 45,000- 50,000 miles per year on the vehicle so a good set of tires is important and I always thought the Michelin tires to be the best value - lowest cost per mile to run. I wanted to replace the A/S tires with another set of A/S tires but was told by the dealer that they were "unavailable". He spoke of the LTX M/S 2's so I went ahead and got the set. Never did I realize that there would be an affect on gas mileage. I keep very detailed records of my miles and fuel consumed and, to the date of install of the new tires my fuel mileage, under the same driving condions, dropped over 13% or 2.7 MPG. Assuming the same tread wear on these that I had on the orginal A/S tires , my fuel cost is going to increase by $2200 over the life of the tire. Any value gained by the longer trad life is lost five-fold due to the decreased fuel efficiency. Unfortuneatley I did not realize the effect untril after the 30 day warranty ran out or I would have returned the tires. I expected a slight change in the fuel efficiency with the more aggressive tread , but not anything near this drastic.
