Best Light Truck Tires !!!

2009 F-150 w/ 20" wheels. 54 year old driver with mechanical background. Purchased these tires just over 1 year ago and have put about 16,000 miles on them. Took a trip out west (6500 miles) right after they were installed. I couldn't be happier with them. Like riding on a cushion of air. Made my F150 even more pleasurable to drive. Wear has been as expected for a truck and I fully expect to get 70,000 miles out of them. Handling seems improved over previous tires. Mileage stayed the same. Tires were filled with nitrogen initially and I found tire pressure was low in all four after 3 months. I have been monitoring more closely. Without any doubt the best tires I have ever owned.

Great Tires

The tires exceed expectations. I have been a long time Michelin tire buyer and I am completely satisfied with the MS 2's that I bought recently. They ride really good and I look to have them last a long time. These tires wear as good as any tire I have ever had. The M/S tires I had on previously got me around 65,000 miles on them before I bought these M/S 2's. That is living in the mountains of North Carolina. Thanks for making such a great tire!!

Michelin LTX M/S2

I prefer Michelin tires and have always replaced lesser tires with Michelin when the time came. Love the tires on my truck now...ride is smooth and feels like a new truck - no joke. However, Michelin through me a loop when I tried to find tires. Using the Tire Finder on Michelin's website indicated no tires were available for my truck. I then went to a dealer website to determine my options when the above tire popped as a match. I went back to the Michelin website, found the tire, and confirmed my truck's eligibility. Would encourage Michelin to "fix" their Tire Finder app.

What a difference in ride

I cant express how happy I am with the Michelin tires I purchased for my 2004 Silverado. I was tempted to buy some more economical tires but glad I opted for the better quality tires. The small amount I paid extra was well worth the quietness these tires are compared to the original equipment that came on my vehicle. My wet weather traction is also 100% better than my original tires. My truck has never been so smooth and quiet even when it was new.

my first michelins

bought a set of LTX MS/2 a year ago and let me tell you its the best set of tires ive ever purchased, there are awsome at wet traction and very good at hard stops, does not warp, uncap or egg at all. i like how they have the tiny michelin man wear indicators on them. very high quality tire with 70,000 treadwear warranty you could not resist. i bet i can get over a 100,000 miles out these tires- the wheel bearings il go before they do. ive seen michelins that are 10 years old. and still hardley any dry rotting. very good a holding air pressure too. they even look good i have them mounting black side out where it shows the michelin man& logo. i have the 265 70r 18 mounted on a nissan titan and these ride smoother than the factory ones i replaced. overall the best built tire out there. i recommend anyone who is going to spend their money on tires: do it right the first time and get michelin. you get what you pay for. ive compared these to other tires and hands down michelin got everybody beat. here in the south we say ROLL"EM TILL THEY POP!!!

outstanding tire

I have been using Michelin Tires since 1965 and have had very little problems with them. I did have a tire weight thrown into one of my new tires and it did ruin the tire. A very unusual happening. I did have low mileage on one set of tires due to wrong tire pressure(my fault). I probably have over a million miles on Michelin tires and have 3 vehicles with Michelin tires on them at this writing. Thank You Michelin for continuing to make true quality tires

LTX M/S2 Disappointment

I have used the LTX M/S tires on my trucks for years. They were great in the Ohio snow and the rain as well. I recently purchased an 09 Silverado 1500 that came to me with tires that weren't Michelin. and those tires were horrible. Visited a local Michelin Dealer to obtain LTX M/S for this truck as I've been very pleased with them in the past. I was informed the LTX M/S is no longer available, that I would have to go with the LTX M/S 2. I went ahead and ordered the LTX M/S 2 and had them installed recently. Haven't yet had the experience of driving them in the snow, though I have little doubt they will be fine. Driven in rain and have the usual confidence I've experienced with the previous LTX M/S. The problem is as follows; I can't drive one mile on any road without hearing a stone strike the underside of my truck. Today is the 5th of August. It's not as though there are snow plows depositing stones on the road as they plow the shoulder. The tires I purchased are P265/65R18 112T, LTX M/S2 BW. I don't know if this is an issue related to only the size I purchased or if it's across the board. What I do know is I can't afford to purchase another brand tire this soon to alleviate the stone issue, so I guess I just turn up the radio and drive on. I will pose a question to the Customer Care Team; Why did you mothball the LTX M/S?

P265/75/R16 - Full Size SUV

Hands down the best lasting, most realiable and comfortable riding tire ive ever owned. i own full size SUV's (Tahoe, Yukons) over the last 20 years. i tried the LTX/MS tires on my Tahoe and got 75K before i traded. i have had 2 sets of the LTX/MX2's on my Yukon, both set i got over 85K and never had a blown tire ( Construction Manager). i have over 300 on my 2003 GMC Yukon and just put another set of Michelins on it again. Great Tire.

Dry Rotten at 3 years old

I purchased in June of 2012 the purported best Michelin light truck/suv tires, the LTX MS2, with a built date of 1712 > the 17th week of 2012. Three years later, they're dry rotten, with cracks extending 2" from the bead and 1" from the shoulder. When I tried to warrant them at two different places, one told me it was weather related from heat and not a warranty issue, the other told me that until the dry rotting is across the entire sidewall the tires cannot be warranted. DOT code: M3LV28AX1712 While traction has been excellent with hardly any tread wear, the sidewalls are junk. Buyer beware.

I Would Never Buy This Tire Again!

I am a little surprised on the high rating and positive reviews. My experience was a bad one. I bought the tires 6/03/2011 at 42,683 miles they are complete garbage at now 7/1/2013 at 77,407 miles. I contacted a dealer who contacted a rep who said they would prorate me back about about 3% of what I paid. I or my children or my grandchildren will never buy Michelin again. And I plan on finding others who have got burned on these tires and telling other about these tires which seem defective to me.
