Soap dispensers come with pros and cons - many don't prefer that option as it can mean an extra element that requires measuring and emptying prior to storage. With this design you can pull directly from our detergent bottle and simply replace cap when you are done, eliminating extra steps (detergent link below.) Hi, John. We're sorry to hear about your difficulty with the cord. Sometimes, the pump may build up pressure just enough before a complete start, and cause the pull rope to "freeze" until the pressure is released at the spray wand.
