Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lawn food helps feed the yard when used very lightly. I had read about the concerns and so we applied it very sparsely, maybe one fourth or fifth the suggested rate. It did really well at that level.

Particles are very fine and spreads easily. Greens up quickly.

I use a broadcast spreader and one bag is enough to cover my front and back lawn.. I used Turf Builder early in the spring and then applications of Green Max in June and August. In October I will use the Scott's fall and winter fertilizer. Always blow the granules off any surfaces like cement walkways. If left on cement it will leave stains from the iron.

Just what the doctor ordered

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was just what the doctor ordered. My lawn looks green and healthy (except for the parts my dog pees on...grrr). Even my neighbors have asked me for my secret and I direct them to this product. Works great!

Outstanding Deep Green Lawn - but Severly Rust Stained Concrete

This is an outstanding product. After applying it, my lawn developed a lush deep green appearance and is the envy of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, my rust stained brand new sidewalk is now the eyesore of the neighborhood. The stains are horrible, but are my fault as I did not closely read the fine print of the instructions which clearly stated that over-spray onto concrete must be swept off as soon as possible to avoid rust stains. I highly recommend the product as it works as advertised, but I Strongly recommend that Scotts print the warning about concrete staining MORE PROMINENTLY. My neighbors have started to use this product with good results, and have had no concrete staining because they learned from my example and brushed off the over-spray immediately after application.

AWESOME PRODUCT

I bought this product because my grass was looking dull. I applied and within 24 hours I saw a huge difference. My grass was green and lush and so beautiful. My neighbors ask me what I use all the time because it stays so green and healthy. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!

It works.

Put this down a week ago. My lawn is already well taken care of. I mow at 3.5” at least twice a week and sharpen my blades at least once a month. There is definitely a darker colour to my lawn than before I put this down. I watered my lawn 1/2” when I put it down, then got another 1/2” of rain during the week.

Excellent product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just used the Green Max lawn food last week with great results. My lawn never looked this good so early in the spring season. Trouble spots areas now blended well into the lawn. The product helped my lawn look uniform throughout. The directions were easy to follow.

Review of Product Application...Not Results

Similar to others, I encountered a fertilizer consistency that I never experienced before...I poured it in my spreader, set my opening per instructions, and starting pushing...only nothing was coming out. Upon further inspection, I found that the product had the consistency of wet sand, and even after I opened the spreader opening all the way, nothing was coming out. I have never seen such a gummy substance. I figured that somehow moisture had gotten in the bag (which was unopened), so I left it sitting in the spreader in the sun for several hours hoping that it would dry out. Nope, no change in the consistency. I finally got a small hand spreader and broadcast small amounts while shaking vigorously. I am afraid that the distribution will be spotty, but it has not been long enough to see any results.

Winter in Ohio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family lives in Ohio where it's still winter. Typically we start mowing and treating the lawn in early April. Some seasons can be really tough on reviving the lawn such as our usually cold winter when it snowed a lot. I am very excited to try this product on my lawn because it needs so much after the brutal winter. It looks very easy to use and the bag has enough product for the size of my lawn. I do have a large home and need enough to cover my front, side and back yard. Scott's products always work well on our grass. Wish my neighbor across the street would do something about his dandelions!

Definately greens up a yellowing lawn

Significant improvement in lawn color in one week. No product clumping was observed when the bag was first opened. Appears to absorb moisture from humid air and a few agglomerates were found about one week after opening. I thought that I could use a leaf blower to remove spillage from hard surfaces, but iron staining did occur. Next time I will wash it off with water.
