Very quiet and smooth. I love the way they handle. I live in a hilly / mountainous terrain where we get all four seasons. Recently we had a significant snow fall and we had to make a sudden stop due on the freeway. I was thankful that we had the Michelin Defender 2's. We stopped on a dime without any slippage. I can't comment on wear and durability because I haven't had them long enough but from other reviews that I've read from many sources, these were the "BEST" Recommended tire for my vehicle (Subaru Ascent). Bought 4 replacement tires for my 2017 Rav4, tires are just as noisy as my original OEM tires. Was hoping for quieter ride, but the same. Set pressure to 32 psi, but no difference. My winter Michelins are quieter, Defenders are a harder rubber with gives them longer life, but increase road noise.

The best tire purchase I have ever made. I replaced the tires on my 2021 Honda CRV which only had 28,000 miles and what a difference it made. The ride is smoother, quieter and my car seems to even handle better. I would highly recommend Michelin no matter what series you’ll be getting the best tire even though they are a little pricey you’ll be getting your moneys worth.

I have had Michelin on everything i have owned the last 35 years. They usually Crack on the sides before they ever wear out . They are awesome . They are so smooth it's like riding on a cloud . Just put a set on my Chevy Silverado . Simply the best highway tire available.

I am very disappointed with the Michelin Defender 2. The 4 tires are rated for 80,000 miles. However, I am experiencing uneven wear (feathering) on al 4 tires at 12,000 miles. I have documentation to prove I have been aligning my tires at Firestone since the tires were purchased new. The shocks and struts are new on my vehicle. However, I am experiencing noisy tires, and the roads feel bumpy all the time.

Michelin Primacy MXV4s were the tires replaced by these. The biggest difference between the two is that the Defender 2s are much better in rain, snow, and slush, which is the reason I got them. My biggest concern was that they would be louder on the highway and they are not. The MXV4 is a fine tire, but these make my car more capable in bad weather.

So far so good after approximately 3 months and 4,000 miles on our Defender 2s. The most notable improvement is a front end road noise reduction; the tires also provided admirable traction after a recent snowstorm. Some improvement in gas mileage was anticipated but that hasn't been noticed. Overall we're satisfied with our Defender 2 tires (but, hey, what new tires aren't an improvement over aged, worn tires?).

I have been a user of Michelin tires in my primary vehicles for at least 25 years. I have tried other popular and "best-selling" tires in my secondary cars but never achieved the satisfaction with wear, overall handling and traction as I did with the Michelin tires. Since moving north to a climate with more snow three years ago, I now use Michelin Tires exclusively and am very pleased with my decision.

We just got these so we’ve only put a few miles on them tires but they are much quieter than the continental tires we had been buying. They seem to ride nicely as well and look much meatier too. I’m sure I’ll be kicking myself for not paying the extra price for Michelins years ago.

Prior to purchasing my Defender2 tires I had the Firestone Destination tires on my vehicle and they were the worse tires I have every had on a vehicle. The traction and grip on these Michelin Defender2 tires are excellent! I would definitely recommend the Defender2 to others looking for a great set of all season tires.
