Premier AS

I replaced my Goodyear Eagles with the Michelin Premier AS and what a diiference. Quieter, smoother, cornering. I can't wait to test them in the rain. My Goodyears were terrible and would hydroplane. The drawback was the price but so far well worth it.

High road noise

Unhappy with the Premier brand. I get a lot of road noise from these tires and my understanding was that they were a better tire than the Energy brand. I've only had them for about 1 month and I certainly wouldn't buy them again. My last set was Energy and the last 2 sets on my wife's van was Energy.

Very good so far

Two weeks ago we put on 4 new Premier tires to replace the <4/32s worn Primacy MXV4s on our 2012 Toyota Camry XLE. The installer could have still gotten Primacys but advised us to go with Premiers since if there was ever a need to replace a single Primacy they would not be available. I'd had concerns about the 8.5/32s new tire tread depth on the Premiers, but they pointed out the tires have sipes that both appear during tread wear and go down fully to under 2/32s which other tires don't have. We average over 15k mi/year on this car with a 60/40 balance of highway/city miles. So far in over 1600 miles of mostly freeway driving I am very satisfied with the Premiers. Mine are NOT noisy as some have complained about. Handling is excellent; I've only had 30 miles of driving in heavy rain but they did fine. I've noticed a very slight degradation in gas mileage almost not measurable but it may be down a few percent (normally get right at the Toyota EPA 35 mpg on the freeway and it's varied from around 37 with a tail wind to 32 the past 2 tanks which seems a bit low based on conditions). I will reserve judgement on winter handling and see if I can add to this review in December after our first real midwest snows. I am still concerned I'll get 60k miles but hope to get at least 50k depending on the time of the season treadwear drops under 4/32s.

30k mile tires

These tires have lasted just over 30k miles, although the tires themselves have performed well overall I was highly dissatisfied to have to pay to replace them before I was anywhere near 60k miles. While I appreciate a warranty pro-rate what I would appreciate more is only having to pay for one set of tires every 60-80k miles instead.

Expensive Garbage!

I ran MXV4s on my Honda Accord until they were discontinued. Went with the Premier A/S and have regretted it ever since. I could get 55,000-60,000 miles out of a set of MXV4s and they never seemed to get loud even when they were nearing the end of their tread life. Had the car inspected today and was told that they barely passed and I will need new tires next year. So I will end up getting maybe 40,000 miles out of a set of these garbage rim protectors. Pitiful tread life, high road noise and I feel every bump in the road. These were expensive tires and they have been a complete disappointment. Want a quality tire that lasts, look elsewhere.

Poor quality; tires show premature excessive wear

Couldn't be any more disappointed in these tires. Despite Michelin's reputation for quality, these tires are showing excessive wear well before the stated mileage warranty. We have only 31,554 miles on a set of tires guaranteed for 60,000 miles, and a tread depth gauge already shows yellow. What's most aggravating is my Honda dealer noticed the excessive wear back on 10/28/22, when our vehicle was in for an oil change and tire rotation. They measured the tread depth at 5/32". This is only 2.7 years after we purchased the tires new. If that's the best Michelin can do, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Marie, sorry to read your tires are in need of replacement so soon. But remember, there is a mileage warranty on the tires. One of our team members will be in touch to work with you and your retailer in initiating a warranty mileage claim.

Excellent wear and traction through life of tire just as advertised. Bring back all sizes

80,000 + miles on the premiers, have had the defenders on 3 yrs now as the replacement for the premiers, not crazy with the defenders over the premiers, handing, comfort and traction was A+++, disappointed michelin is dropping sizes. Was using 215/55 r17

On Michelin’s since 1968

I have used Michelin tires since 1968 & every time I buy another brand, I return, because only Michelin puts your car on “rails” as far as handling, ride & overall performance. The Premier A/S on my K5 that I have now are fantastic all around. The Plus3 that I have on my V are truly amazing!

Transformed the PRIUS ride...

I've spent way too much time in my daughters Toyota Prius traveling from New York to L.A. and back several times. The Prius being the "ultimate utility vehicle" on many levels always, always felt just like that when it came to the ride and road feel/noise riding on the OEM Bridgestone Ecopias. My goal became then to try to improve the Prius' ride in the only way that I could. Cutting to the chase...the Michelin Premier A/S transformed the ride of this vehicle without compromising gas mileage as far as I can tell. Road noise cut by over half!!! And a Cadillac like plush ride on top of it...just kidding! A real nice tire for this vehicle!

6 months and satisfied

I don't understand how so many customers find Premiers so noisy. I read reviews before purchasing and decided to take a chance on them anyway. I like the idea of great traction - even with worn tires. The Forester came with Yokohama Geolander GO35, and I replaced them with Kumho ECSTA HP4. I think the Premiers are as quiet as either of those tires, and the ride is fine. I based my final decision using an online tire retailer's user ratings with all categories being excellent/superior. We had a mild winter in Iowa - so no deep snow since I bought these on December 15, 2015. We drive in town and on the highway. Fuel mileage is about the same.
