EZ Seed Success

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ahave used the EZ Seed produuct for a few years to supplement the Scott's Step 1-4 series I do. It is great for bare spots that come up rnadomly or due to dog traffic. It is very easy to use.

Hard to grow area

We're sorry to hear that you grass grows and then dies. Have you checked out the environmental conditions? Hard soil, sandy soil, low/high pH, sun/shade are all things that will affect the longevity of the grass. Consider a soil test and adding organic material to the lawn to improve the overall quality of the soil.

Quality seed that really grows anywhere!

Applied the seed on September 28 to the side of a sloped hill with sandy poor soil. The seed stayed on the hill and didn't wash away. By October 4 seedlings were popping up! Great product would highly recommend!!

Great product to grow grass in bare spots

Don’t work

Third time trying this product and 0 growth. I even tried putting down miracle grow ground soil before putting EZ down and nothing. Air temperature within ideal range and watered appropriately. Total rip off!

Depending on conditions and the seed type, the grass can take from 6 to 14 days to start to germinate. Germination requires air temperatures consistently above 65 degrees F. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. If a weed control is used before seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge. Make sure the ground is still visible when EZ Seed has been applied. If the seed was applied too thickly, the seed on the bottom will still germinate; gently water the area for 2 minutes to allow the water to reach the seeds. This grass dies after the first season

This grass grows like crazy and looks great--but it's an annual grass. It dies out over the winter. My yard man warned me. I couldn't believe Scott's would sell grass seed like that. But sure enough, come spring the grass was all dead.
