[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a combination of grass seed and a medium to hold water. It will turn light brown when dry and dark brown when wet, this is how you maintain a wet seed so that sprouting will occur. After about 10 days a nice layer of fresh s grass seedlings appeared. This product is good for small areas as it is somewhat expensive. Approximately twice the price of bare seed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to easily patch several sections of my lawn with this product and was amazed at how quickly the grass seedlings appeared. Just followed the watering plan on the container (easy to follow pictures) and within a week the bare spots were filling in nicely! Great product!

I have a great lawn, however, I did have a few bare spots where nothing seem to work. I applied EZ seed and in less than three weeks I have grass growing. I've even ridden over it with my tractor and the grass still is coming up. A great and durable product!!Tnaks Scott.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a new house 2 years ago and the lawn was in bad shape. I applied Scotts easy seed last year and it helped with alot of the bare spots. I will apply it again soon to help fill in the remaining spots left from weed removal. Works Great and the container is much easier to store than a bag!

After great bare batch results with my purchase I bought more… the results was a complete disappointment. Not one blade of new grass after more than a month, didn’t do anything different in preparation and the weather was suitable for growth. Purchased through Amazon so I don’t know how long it’s been sitting on the shelf if that’s an issue… after looking at the reviews it looks like I’m not the only one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this product during the very dry summer months and waited until the rains started in the fall. The EZ Seed Repair Sun and Shade Seed Patch was easy to see so I could apply it evenly and once watered, the expandable mulch pellets protected the seed from washing away on the shaded sloped site. The grass came up thickly and looks wonderful 6 months later after a nasty wet winter.

I lost a good portion of my lawn to grubs this fall. I had some EZ seed left from some spot repairs in the spring. I didn't have enough for the entire area so I also bought seed and soil for the large areas. The areas that I used the EZ Seed were fuller and hearty. The seeded areas will need to be reseeded. The EZ Seed is very easy to use and works great.

This product did not live up to my expectations or it's claims. I used it, about a month ago, to patch several bare spots in my lawn and only a couple of the spots have any grass growing in them and they are pretty thin. I am in east Tennessee and have the usual "red clay soil" in this area. I have had better luck with bare spots that I have patched myself with seperate seed, mulch and fertilizer. I was disappointed with this product.

I purchased this product along with Turf Builder 1.5 cu. ft. Lawn Soil to fill in a bare patch in my lawn. The grass began to grow in nicely and I was really very happy. I came out one morning to water the grass and the ENTIRE patch had been taken over by one type of weed. This weed isn't present anywhere else in my yard (or my neighbors' yards, I checked). I wanted to test and make sure that it really was the fault of these products so I used both the EZ Seed and the LawnSoil to grow a patch of grass in a container. The grass began to grow and then the entire container was taken over by the same weed. My lawn is far from perfect. You can see that by looking at the photo I've uploaded with this review. I have dandelions and thistle and a few other kinds of weeds as well. But this was supposed to be a step towards fixing the lawn and instead it just introduced another weed into the mix. In the photo you can see EXACTLY where the grass seed was planted because it's EXACTLY the same area as the patch of weeds. I planned on seeding the other area of bare soil in the photo at the same time as this patch but I'm glad I didn't waste my time. What a huge waste of money and all the time and effort I put into preparing the bare patch of my lawn for seeding. I have to start over from scratch and I won't be using ANY Scotts products this time around.
